I'm fine with the waxing but the hair straightening is weird. I think all girls should have to go through that awkward frizzy stage. How else are they going to appreciate the flat iron and being perfect later in life?

I'm sorry. Maybe my opinion is skewed by the fact that I saw an entire swath of 8th grader pubic hair displayed at a local pool two weeks ago. And this girl's very conservative parents weren't allowing her to 1. Wear an inappropriate swim suit or 2. Even shave her legs much less where her thighs meet her lady business. So even wearing a decent swim suit, I (and everyone else at the pool) saw things that are meant to be private. Now if you want to argue that body hair shouldn't be considered private, that's an entirely different story. I think that just as once you have breasts, you should wear a bra that once you have body hair, you should be allowed to attend to it. Get that extended childhood bull shit out of here because biology is winning that battle. Forty years ago we also didn't have ten year olds menstruating.

This is just an assumption.

In fact: Lina Medina is born on September 27 1933 in Paurange, Peru.
She's the worlds youngest mother.

I guarantee you 10 year olds have menstruated for 1000s of years. There were children in religious history that had kids. Kids were married and fucked all the time back in the day. It is as natural as anything.

Here is a list of youngest mothers dating back 150 years:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_youngest_birth_mothers

Another example:
Aisha, one of Muhammad's 11 wives, was six or seven years old when betrothed to Muhammad. Traditional sources state that she stayed in her parents' home until the age of nine when the marriage was consummated with Muhammad, then 53, in Medina.
Nobody is going around crying pedophile when it comes to Muhammad!!! What would people think of Muhammad today? Exactly! A freak. A terrorist. blah blah blah. Anything but an apostle.

I think the whole pedophile concept was used as a witchhunt to limit our liberties and get the government into places where it shouldn't belong.

No matter how many laws that are in place, you can see men of every age and every race and every occupation and every intelligence level trying to score with children. Need proof? Watch To Catch A Predator.

It's hard for me to even write this paragraph for the fear someone is going to point at me and yell WITCH for analyzing the history of pedophiliphobia. But I will do it anyway to point out how ridiculous it is.

I agree that a lot of children are abused and someone should step in when abuse is taking place. However, nobody knows how many relationships are healthy because people refuse to look into or acknowledge that it's possible...
unless it's in defense of a religious apostle.

PS... At age 25, Muhammad wed his wealthy employer, the 40-year-old merchant Khadija.

And judging by the way the vast majority of men ask if Miley Cyrus, The girl from Lazy Town, Selena Gomez, Britney Spears, and Vanessa Hudgens are legal, when they weren't, means that a lot of men would bang these underage girls. There was even a countdown thread for Miley on TWW, I believe.

It's the whole concept behind the word "jailbait". Jailbait wouldn't exist if so many men thought these girls were unattractive or if the act itself was "disgusting".

To tell you the truth, I see no difference between the distribution of "fucked up" girls and boys 100 years ago when the laws didn't exist versus the distribution of "fucked up" girls and boys with the laws that exist on the books today. In other words, people are "fucked up" no matter what you do. Maybe "fucked up" is just another word for NORMAL.

Yes, but that is a problem with her parents.

You saw this poor girl at the pool, and I can feel that...but how does a mother on the Upper West Side taking her daughter to the salon solve this other girl's conservative parent problem? If anything, her situation is only going to get worse when all the other girls (who don't even have bikini line problems) start having their moms take them to needlessly bare their privates to a stranger and get waxed...because apparently that's what we do now.

The girl with the conservative parents is still going to be not quite sure how to handle her business and paranoid her parents might find out she bought a [whatever hair removal product/tool].

What the hell are you arguing? (Directed a Gxboy)

Perhaps I should have been more exact with my language. Yes, there have always been statistical outliers, but as previously stated girls are starting puberty at an earlier age than previously. The average age of onset of menstruation has decreased by several years. For this reason, we have younger girls with body hair -- younger girls who may want to wax instead of shave -- and I have absolutely no problem with that. I think that B-SPK's worry that taking our young girls to be waxed is going to do away with the concept of extended childhood is valid, but I put forth that biology is already taking care of that for us and winning the battle. And I, for one, want to teach my children that unless they run off to join a nudist camp that they shouldn't put their pubes on display.

And no, it's not going to solve conservative girl's problems. I'm not trying to solve her problems. I'm just stating my opinion.

They can, but if they can shave it, why can't they wax it? I wish that I had been introduced to waxing before enduring horrible and uncomfortable razor burn numerous times. I can also see simplicity of waxing prior to spending a week at camp.

Honestly who cares if some kid has some stray pubes coming out of her suit. Why are you looking that closely in the first place? Geniusboy is correct that a perv is going to be looking one way or the other so it's doesn't matter if the kid has pubes. It's seems like it has more to do with your own personal disgust with pubic hair than protecting the children. If you get your kid a suit like this one you won't have to worry unless your kid has an abnormally long bush for her age.

What's this exposing their privates to a stranger business? I've never been waxed because I'm scared but from what I understand, when you get a bikini wax, they have you remove your pants but your panties are just moved to the side without exposing full vag

Plus, if a parent is in the room... Who cares if it's not a "medical professional"? Would it be ok if doctors were doing the waxing? I bet it wouldn't change opinions.

What aestheticians call a modest bikini wax only involves the crease of the thigh, upper margin of the thigh, and any hair that may creep above the pubis. It does not involve the pubis or outer lips. It doesn't really involve the baring of the genitals. Many places have disposable underwear for you to wear during your waxing.
