Nope, I didn't actually have to take a class to learn that. Did you get to take the short bus to school too?

I don't open carry because it's illegal to open carry in Texas. If you carry it must be concealed.
Also, squirrel is actually pretty tasty. good for Brunswick stew, and they are fun to hunt. 7/23/2012 9:26:46 AM

^^good article, except the end that argument could be applied way too broadly, just to let big brother "check in" on you.
I've OC'd quite a bit, even in places many OCers won't/where you anti's would shit bricks (being legal places to carry). I have no problem with it, other than the morons who call cops. I've had a few people ask me if I'm a cop/why I have a firearm. It's a simple "no" or "for self protection" and the conversation is over.

I would never open carry unless it was a rifle strapped across my back.
Now i may conceal carry in a rather obvious manner.
why yes... that is a 6" 1911 on my hip. but just making sure someone would have to reach into a more personal area to fux with it makes me more comfortable for what ever reason. 7/23/2012 10:22:06 AM

hundreds of open carrying civilians have had their own weapons used against them? really?
sometimes I forget how useless it is to discuss probability with a gun nut" |
Not many people have their guns used against them. I do want to point out though that a few months ago a dude standing in line at Cookout in Rocky Mount had his gun stolen out of the holster on his hip. That shit happens.
And why would you bother arguing about probabilities in the first place? Probabilities don't mean shit in many aspects of life.
Quote : | "everyone i've seen OCing looks paranoid and scared as shit" |
That's because most people open carrying are new to carrying in general. As we age we realize it's just easier to conceal. 7/23/2012 9:53:04 PM

^^ external threads for flash hider/muzzle brake/breaching brake. They also make adapters that screw on to the external threads and then have internal threads exposed for screw-in chokes (Remington, maybe some others). 7/23/2012 11:43:54 PM

something I learned yesterday. If ammo says "personal defense" or "defense" of any kind on it....Canada can't have it.
Canadian gun laws are awful.
Even compared to California...

what's interesting is that many 'personal defense' loads are designed for limited penetration to decrease collateral damage (wording may be off... i.e. stop the thread without bullets going through walls, multiple bodies, etc.) 7/24/2012 8:16:26 AM

yeah...they want everyone to carry concealed. i actually think its a good idea. another cool law is that you can carry concealed in your vehicle with out your CHL, unlike in NC where you need a CCL to carry concealed in your vehicle. 7/24/2012 8:38:23 AM

Not gonna lie, I CC rather than OC because I'm more scared of the police reaction than worried about the protection issue. There's still a lot of tension when they hear a soccer mom call about a man with a gun. In all fairness to them, knowing I have a gun that takes literally no official training to stick on my hip compared to a CC that requires a background check and the most basic training at least makes them feel like they're dealing with someone with some sort of qualification. Honestly I'm all for a tiered training and qualification system that would allow more CC rights and venues as you progress simply due to the PITA factor of where I can legally CC. /IRseriouscat 8/8/2012 7:57:01 AM
