So if I get them online most rides will only cost between 4 and 5 dollars.

Don't care about the "new" foods. I want my honey cotton candy and apple cider. YUM.

I kinda like going later in the week so you can see all the award winning cakes and pies as they rot in the unrefrigerated cases.

^ hahahaha yes! I remember one year had been particularly hot and the cakes were basically green blobs covered in maggots by the end of the fair

Heard on the radio there is going to be fried cinnamon buns topped with bacon this year. Don't know how I feel about that.

I stopped by and cupcake booth and nabbed a key lime pie.

Nom, I wish I could buy a dozen, but I know I couldn't eat them fast enough without adding to the pudge I've collected this year

Went tonight, wont be going back for a while. Grime and filth seemed to cover the place worse than in years past, the continued swarm of fucking morons standing in the middle of a busy walkway stopping traffic, and the traffic.

What I just said comes to no surprise, but this year it just seemed worse...much worse.

The bleubird cupcake I got (apple spice) was soooooooo good! That and a pickle were all I ate.

We got there when the last storm cell was moving through and indoor exhibit hopped. I was rather miserable at first bc i had hyped our "first fair trip as a family" up and the kiddo wasn't happy touring indoor stuff in his stroller . He wanted to walk and he'a not much of a hand holder. Fine in the stroller outside with so much to see and watch all the rides move. Then the rain cleared and we rode quite a few rides with him which he loved. Especially the slide, the cars and the spinning ship (like a teacup) ride. Just escaped as this current cell started to show up.

We didn't do a pig race or see the tractor pull :-/

Overall...a big win for our first fair trip

I got some deep-fried girl-scout cookies (thin mints). They were okay, wish I got the Samoas. I also went to the bear exhibit for the first time. It wasn't as depressing as I thought it might be, it was pretty cool.

The Bluebird cupcake I got was the snickers one. It was so fucking good.

Even though it is halfway over I was finally able to
get a public safety live audio feed up and running like last year:
http://broadcastify.com/listen/feed/8502
and
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?feedId=8502

Channels/Talkgroups being streamed include:

Statewide Events Alpha 1 (TG 784) = Entry/Exit Points and Patrol
Statewide Events Alpha 2 (TG 816) = Event Channel
Statewide Events Alpha 3 (TG 848) = Dorton Arena
Statewide Events Alpha 4 (TG 880) = Fire/EMS/Red Cross
Statewide Events Bravo 1 (TG 912) = LE Traffic Ops

And a map of the traffic "post" locations from years past that should still be accurate:

Imma be on wral at 6 talking about the tree people

Who are fucking cool as shit. I watched the guy get his costume on. The fall leaves one is beautiful.

Also stopped by bleubird again...another apple pie, key lime pie (which was good but not better than apple IMO) and the chocolate. Will review chocolate later as it came home with me
