Ya, market is already flooded, so I'll hold off a couple months. A lot of these are gifts or being sold at cost, my only risk now is if Microsoft drops the price themselves, which I doubt will happen. 11/24/2012 10:26:48 PM |

I was there for 26 hours from Wednesday at 6 til Thursday at 8. Had to drive 45 minutes to Columbus, GA for the nearest Sears. There were only 4 of the big TVs and I was second in line. I called over there that night and the guy told me two people were already in line (even though it was only one) so I headed over there.
Hundreds of people were in line by the time the store opened, all of them seemed to think they were getting TVs and damn near started a riot when they ran out the tickets.11/25/2012 3:58:48 PM |

26 hours in the cold to save $200 on a TV?
There are homeless people that value their time more than that. 11/26/2012 12:37:40 AM |

yeah, amazon.com had that TV on Black Friday for $399.99. So, you coulda paid $100 more in exchange for 26 hours of your life. But some people just like the adventure, so who am I to judge. I once sat outside best buy a few years ago to get cheap electronics. Had the experience, won't do it again. 11/26/2012 2:47:40 PM |

Here was my Black Friday experience:
Walk into the local Lowe's sometime late morning. Find tool set I've had my eye on for awhile.
Buy it a few minutes later, save $100 (227-piece tool set, retails for $200, Black Friday special: $100).
No waiting in line in the cold or any foolishness like that. I just walked in, bought it, and walked out. 11/26/2012 2:53:29 PM |

Here was my Black Friday experience.
Bought a copy of Assassin's Creed 3 from Best Buy for 59.99 plus tax a week ago so I can play it over Thanksgiving. Held onto the receipt.
Walked into Best Buy Friday afternoon and bought another copy of AC3 for 34.99. Walked straight from the checkout desk to the customer service desk, and using the old receipt, returned the copy I just bought and got my 59.99 back.
I got to play the game the night it came out AND didn't have to pay full price for it. 11/26/2012 2:59:42 PM |

There's one on my way home from work. Wasn't inconvenienced in the slightest. 11/26/2012 3:02:11 PM |

That sounds awfully cheap and wrong in my opinion. 11/26/2012 11:59:50 PM |

some stores refund you the difference if you make a purchase and then the item goes on sale within a certain time frame (IIRC, Lowe's does this), especially if the sale is driven by the manufacturer. 11/27/2012 2:26:50 AM |

^ yep
^^ pretty common these days. Some grocery stores do it, I know Target does it, Best Buy around us does it (I don't shop there but have heard people talk about it at work). Lots of online stores do it too: Amazon does it automatically for me. For the brick and mortar stores they bank on the fact that most people won't go through the effort to bring something back for a price-match within the time-frame if indeed their item does go on sale.
I don't have any problem getting a price-match if I bought something from a big store.

Yep. When we bought a washer/dryer set from HHGregg and then within the 30ish days they price match brought in an ad where Sears was selling it for almost half what we paid they acted surprised we were even in there and then acted like they weren't going to honor the price match. Not my fault your company has a price match policy and you were on the losing end.11/27/2012 8:17:08 AM |
