My first post also stated that the ONLY places I use my AmEx are at grocery stores and gas stations. I never get turned down when I use it (which is ONLY at those places). It is not my main card. Clearly you are trolling.



Anyway, yes there are plenty of small businesses around me that do accept it. Not the majority but I still see several that accept it. However, it was interesting to see what they listed as small businesses yesterday when using their "small business map." Did anyone else notice that? For example, Publix near me showed up as a participating small business but Bi-Lo did not (I obviously did not expect either of them to show up though). Arby's also showed up as a small business oddly. This was not the norm of course but there were some oddballs like my exmaples sprinkled throughout their map. Franchising was my only thought for why a few of these national chains showed up.

Did anyone else see this on their map?

i didn't notice anything weird. i spent some money at a beer store in winston-salem yesterday and within 30 minutes or so i got an email from amex saying thanks for shopping at a small business or whatever.

interesting. I didn't get an email other than the one thanking me for signing up. I was already planning on going to a place that was listed as participating and spent about $30 there. So, if it didn't go through for some reason it's not a big deal since I was going to head there anyway, but it would be nice
