I'm overly generous with the delivery guys. But I also tend to get my food abnormally fast as a result. Pretty sure one of the high school delivery kids at Salvio's has killed a pedestrian or something delivering my pizza in record time

Ordered pizza last night. Total was $17.xx...gave the driver a $20. So a $2.xx tip. That amount is about normal for me regardless of my total amount....I don't really worry about % of total when it's delivery.

I just tip everyone who is supposed to get a tip like a waiter. 15-20%. Goes for delivery people, barbers, cab drivers, etc.

Look the only reason you tip is because you are face to face with someone who's job probably sucks. Not saying that you shouldn't do it, or that they do or don't deserve a certain %, but don't fool yourself. Its to make yourself feel good. lol and for some people, i guess not tipping or tipping shittily makes them feel good.

This. I order from the same Domino's whenever I order pizza (because it is the only pizza place that delivers to my house). They must store it in their computer that I tip well, because my pizza always gets here in like 20 minutes, and I am a good 10 minute drive from Domino's.

I'm not exactly calling bullshit but unless you tip 100% or something crazy I think it's just your perception or really awesome delivery service. What's your frame of reference for abnormally fast.

I usually just tip $3 plus the change to round up the bill to the next dollar but then the pizza place is maybe 2-3 miles and I usually get only one large pizza.

I noticed in the notes section on the side of the box once that it said "Tips Well", so I assume it is stored in the computer along with special delivery instructions. But I have never delivered pizza before, so I'm not sure how all that works.

I do have a problem with paying a delivery fee and STILL being expected to tip enough to cover the delivery guy's wage.

This is why I haven't had a pizza delivered in literally years.

If I'm delivering pizza or whatever I'd note "doesn't tip" on the best ones so other drivers would avoid them.

When I'm getting the food faster than I would if I called it in and drove there myself to pick it up. The Chinese place we regularly order from is a 15 minute drive from our house yet somehow they manage to get to us in 25 minutes or less from when we call in the order. I know Chinese food is generally quick to make but it usually doesn't burn your mouth from being so hot with a delivery order Pizza place is the same way. They'll usually quote us 45 minutes yet the pizza arrives in 25 minutes with the same kid delivering almost every time. Maybe they're just overly conservative with their estimate but the first time a buddy of ours that lives in our neighborhood order from them it took him the estimated time to get his pizza.

I usually tip a couple of extra dollars since there's the delivery fee added in. If it's raining or generally shitty outside I'll tip more. If it's a really hot girl I'll tip a lot more.
