WTF is there come conspiracy against DSII since Titanfall drops today?
I pre-ordered it from Waly World and go to pick it up - they don't have it.
Then I go to Target, and nope they don't either.
THEN I go to Gamestop they did not have it unless you preordered it based on what the guy said.
Finally I go to Best Buy they had but at first the guy did not even know it was there.
Everywhere I went they had Titanfall copies and posters and all sorts of adverts for the game. 3/11/2014 10:45:31 AM |

^^ titanfall just has a bigger audience. that shouldn't surprise anyone. plus i gotta get on the titanfall train while the multiplayer'in be good. dark souls can wait until a price drop and still have the same fun I figure. 3/11/2014 1:36:45 PM |

played for a couple hours last night. more of the same for the most part, which is exactly what i was hoping for. very happy they decided to make the hud disappear so i don't have to obsess over whether its image is going to burn into my screen if i play too long. 3/12/2014 8:42:09 AM |

I am struggling to understand what is so great about this game. I have watched gameplay and didn't see anything that ground breaking. What makes this game so good? The difficulty? The frustration? Can someone articulate why you play this game? 3/14/2014 11:53:40 PM |

I played Dark Souls 1 and tbh I was unsure what all the hype was about. I felt like the controls were cumbersome, the UI was painful to maneuver through, and the overall experience fairly unrewarding. To me, it seemed the only way you progress is by beating your head against the wall of a ridiculous encounter over and over and over again until you get lucky enough to survive, then you go around the corner and ~boom~ there is another, even more ridiculous encounter.
Maybe back in my gaming youth, when I had hours and hours to sit with my console and nothing else to do with my life, would this type of experience be fun to me. But now, it just seems like a frustration sink, and I've got other games offering better experiences to play. 3/15/2014 8:10:46 AM |

Yea, there are some arguments I wouldn't disagree with against the game. It is kind of supposed to be like hitting your head against the wall. That is the point. The menus are pretty bad. I have to walk up close to my TV to see my stats. The combat is supposed to feel weighty so if you decrease your equip load you can move pretty fluidly.
The best thing about the game is the art design. The boss/level artistic imagination is great. It transports you. I've always liked 3rd person games too. Seeing my character is important.

You guys are not doing a good job of selling me on this. This game feels like it has some of that Flappy Bird game mojo going for it. Not particularly fun, unnecessarily difficult and somehow goes viral. I don't think this game is for me. 3/17/2014 9:18:22 PM |

Well, I dont know what to tell you other than get a copy od Demons Souls or Dark Souls, since they are cheaper, and try it out. Just don't give up the fight! 3/17/2014 11:40:56 PM |

I think it's fair to say it's a GREAT game for the right gamer. It's not for everyone. I didn't love the first Dark Souls, but I could easily see the appeal for someone with more time and energy than me.
If you get easily frustrated, enjoy games where the controls simple and intuitive, and like progressing through content and a steady and reasonable pace, this game (series) is not for you. At all. 3/18/2014 7:26:59 AM |

The learning curve is steep but this is my 3rd souls game so I am running train on it. Not to sound cocky. It's very easy to tell now in this game when a boss fight is coming so just summon some people to help. The match making is so much better, I can easily farm souls from the Pursuer boss. I'm like level 40 after a few hours of plays. Not shabby. 3/18/2014 12:01:45 PM |

I farm for souls in the Iron Keep I am like level 80 or something and I can't wait for NG+ and to start a sorc character! I am a Souls veteran as well. I started with Dark Souls, went back and played Demon's Souls and now this!! I love and I wish they could make one every year!

Currently working on a build that uses Blue Flames. Sounds wild.
Quote : | " Blue Flame. Ah-ha! Bet you didn't see this one coming! So here's the true beauty behind the Blue Flame: You can Power Stance with it! But wait, oh-ho-ho, does it get better! Both weapons' strong attacks cast spells, right? Well...Did you know that you can buff both of your weapons using this method? Yeah. That's right. Power Stancing Blue Flames buffed with Crystal Magic Weapon. The sheer damage potential is staggering! That, and you could also pull a spell out of nowhere too, throwing your opponent off guard! Mind you, if you buff the Blue Flame, it actually increases the damage your spells do!" |

I am still fucking around with Bow builds. The Dragonrider Bow is pretty sick and can be got pretty early on in the game. ON NG+ is pretty potent as well. 4/18/2014 1:34:12 PM |

I wouldn't fret. I tried one of the DLC adventures and quit. It just didn't feel right. Pretty sure these companies just use the junior staff to see what they got for this crap. 1/2/2015 11:25:46 PM |

^ True that. I have watched the DLC played on Twitch and while its decent it just doesn't look right, almost amateurish in certain ways. I play it when I get the PS4 version. I do want to support From as much as I can to keep these games coming though. 1/3/2015 7:15:47 PM |

^^
Miyazaki is the creator of the Souls series and it's well known he wasn't around for the second game. Dark Souls 3 makes me realize more and more that the second game was the nadir of the series. Yes, they experimented with larger environments and puzzles but it lacks the polish and detail of the other games. But not everyone agrees.

I haven't played the 2 DLC and don't plan to, but i'm really enjoying DS II.
I played demon souls all the way through, got DSI and got stuck and quit, but have had better luck with DS II and have been really enjoying the enemies and levels.
I've played a little of DS III and look forward to it too. I almost wish they made a PS4 dark souls 1 though because I want to revisit it, but don't want to have to keep my PS3 around. 5/16/2016 12:49:08 AM |

Demon's Souls will always be my favorite since it was my first. I suppose King's Field was an alpha but I never played that shit. Shrine of Storms in Demon's Souls was beautiful. I'd live there with the skeletons and flying manta rays. I'd pat that skeleton on the head and ride a manta ray shouting at the sun. Gun to my head though, Dark Souls might be the most exemplary work of art yet in vidyagames. 5/16/2016 1:18:50 AM |
