Anyone know of a place to get chicken breasts (fresh/thawed or frozen) for less than Harris Teeter's $2/lb?
I need to make a big batch of dog jerky and HT is the cheapest I've seen 9/21/2018 11:56:31 AM |

Call Carolina Butcher shop if you want to travel to Angier, I thought I saw them for like 1.89/lb, but for you, the travel might not make it worth your while. 9/21/2018 12:09:39 PM |

^^If you buy bulk, Angier Meat Market or Carolina Butcher Shop might cut you a deal. I know last week they had them on sale at Carolina Butcher shop for $1.99/lb but now I believe they are back up to $2.69.
Aldi runs a deal every 2-3 weeks..... $1.69/lb family packs. I used to stock up when I came across it when I made dog food at home. Either make bulk dog food and freeze it or freeze the breasts until I made another batch. 9/21/2018 8:14:14 PM |

My dogs are old AF (13 and 14) and very picky, especially when they're sick. There are times when all they will eat is my homemade jerky...but in general, i like supplementing their kibble etc with stuff I make.9/22/2018 12:40:51 AM |

Oh, literally dog food.
I thought dog jerky was some kind of something that people eat. Was thinking this was for a big party or something.
Our beagles are getting old, and this sounds interesting. Any kind of recipe you follow? And how long will it last?
