so i'm gonna use this thread to ask my question.

does anyone know of any good old time jam sessions around central nc?

I have heard of one at the cook shack in union grove I'd like to check out, are there any others?

I would love to find something with a similar atmosphere to this one:

I grew up going to the jam session with my granddad in mt. rogers and later in Helton, NC where this one is. When the temperature is nice they pick outside, when its hot or cold they picked inside. It used to be a legit jam session, but in the past couple years they started using a recurring band so it lost some of it's appeal.

Zep's in Wendell used to have one I think every Tues (or Thurs I can't remember) but I don't know if he's still doing it. Hell I don't even know if he's still in business.

This list shows a rotating Triangle one as well as one in Durham. Don't know anything about them since it's not my thing, but I'm sure you could also call High Strung and ask them. Nice folks, and it's an old time-centric shop.
