On another note. I'm thinking of picking up some sort of optic for my AR. I see used Aimpoints for $400, but arent they like $380 new?"

Not sure the going rate for a new one, I know you could definitely get a PRO for that price. I got a CompM2 used for like $250. Of course when I called Aimpoint to confirm if it was real or not the guy told me while it was real they wont service those models because so many were stolen from the military so that might be why I got such a good deal. Works great though so whatever.

I addition to just being plain awesome, I'm glad that my guns have the ability to stuff copious amounts of sand in settledown's vagina.

it really sucks to be both butthurt and have a sandy vagina at the same time

^^^^^No shit, Comp M2 for $250? I looked through an Aimpoint the other day, co-witnessed with the irons and it was pure magic.

Def makes me wanna dump that 3-9x40 hunting scope on the AR in favor of a red-dot.

I love it, I would like the T1 but I don't need to shell out the cash for it when my M2 works great. I really like the EOTechs better but I love the battery life of the Aimpoint and it is damn near bulletproof.

^^ I think I need to stop being a puss and just pony up the $$$ for a real optic. I was even considering a Primary Arms Aimpoint clone for $69, but I worry about durability.

according to settledownsyndrome's logic, you're an accomplice to murder if you own a gun.

my plan to reduce gun violence if i was obama would be to pardon every single nonviolent drug offender in prison. then we would have plenty of room to lock up the dangerous folks for a long ass time.

Actually, I said the exact opposite. But as long as you're just being an uneducated troll, I wouldn't expect you to actually read and comprehend posts.

we should amend the constitution to allow forced castration if you use a gun to commit a felony

keep changing your story, wdpolice3

you said people don't need to be competent with guns because it's easy to just point it at someone and shoot

I did not advocate anything. I simply stated a fact of firearm use. Again, if you were to actually read and comprehend that thread, and my long post regarding access to firearms, you would realize I in fact, do not agree with decreased competency when it comes to firearm accessibility, but believe certain reasonable restrictions should be in place, but with those restrictions, comes more freedom once a citizen as met the criteria.

I posted this in another thread last year before this latest round of shootings but it's just as relevant now as it was then and as it was 200 years ago:

Quote :
"As long as guns exist in the hands of anyone

And as long as human nature remains what it is

I will do my damnedest to be sure I'm prepared in the--admittedly unlikely--event I should ever have occasion to defend myself or my family from one of them, be they of foreign or domestic threat.

It's not about being a gun nut. It's a hobby, sure, and a damn fun one. But it's rooted in safety, longevity, survival and preparedness, qualities that should not be dismissed even by the most urban of men.

I keep myself reasonably fit, so I will be physically pepared for anything. I keep lots of tools and try to remain handy with most common repairs and fabrications. I keep firearms to protect myself from those who might accost me with their own. It's not tin foil hat, it's not nutty, it's common sense for the self-sufficient individual."

^^^^

you are ignoring the fact that if we let you possess a gun, we must also let crazy, evil people possess guns. and no matter how conscientious and safe you might be with your firearms, you can't control the actions of lunatics such as the dude in Connecticut a couple months back.

no one is opposed, I think, to permitting sane, level-headed people to have guns. but since there's no way of distinguishing sane, level-headed people from the evil lunatics, the safest policy, on the whole (as statistics have shown, I think) is just to keep guns in the hands of law enforcement.

It's too bad for the people who love their guns and would never commit crimes with them, but it's a sacrifice they should be willing to make. And if they're not willing to make it, it should be forced upon them for the good of the majority. If all you gun aficionados would just give up their guns peacefully, it would save shit-tons of lives (and probably decrease your chances of being murdered, statistically speaking, far more than actually having a gun does.)
