^^^ Looking back, it's one of the most self-aware and least self-important sitcoms of the era. It's fluff and they're okay with it. That's worth something.

^^^ BMW was constantly making fun of its conventions. For example, when the Morgan character reappeared with no explanation after a similarly unexplained absence, they didn't ignore it. They built an entire bit around the fact that no one bothered to ask why she was missing.

But they can reach a whole new generation with the spinoff. With BMW being shown every morning on ABC Family for 4 hours, I'm sure a whole new generation that might not have been alive when the show premiered can watch the show now. So maybe they see the increased interest in BMW from a new generation.

There's a ton of continuation shit like that on BMW

I remember in one of the early episodes where Cory hates his hair, Shawn had an older sister named Stacy. Never mentioned again.

And in another episode where Cory was doing a trailer park documentary, Shawn had a half brother that he never told Cory about. Never mentioned again

Also Topanga had a sister named Nebula in one episode.
