I started using Reddit recently. Mostly because it's not banned at work like most of my other forums are, including TWW.

TWW is banned for nudity but Reddit is fine. I think the people who run our internet filter only ban the stuff they don't use themselves.

More like they're sorted by how much they conform to a normative perception. I've seen countless upvoted responses that were blatantly factually incorrect, grossly misleading, or just regular misleading.

At least, this is the case for many of the default subs.

reddit is pretty much the most awful cesspool of hate on the mainstream internet. at least on 4chan et al people aren't actively and frequently rewarded with imaginary internet points for the outright bigotry they constantly shit from their grimy fingers. its only competitor for this crown is 8chan.

Reddit does not understand sarcasm unless you put /s at the end of the sentence.

They also believe that child support is a tool to bring down hard working men.

And that employers should be allowed to not hire any women of child bearing age, because they'll become distracted by things unrelated to work.

It gets a bad rap for the folks like r/CoonTown and r/TheRedPill but many of the places can be awesome positive communities. Also, the witch hunt around the time of the Boston Marathon Bombing didn't help. For everyone one of those, there are places like r/TF2 or r/hiphopheads that provide excellent community resources. The sillier subreddits like r/greendawn are interesting too

and yes, Reddit is very anti-feminist. subs like /r/theredpill are so dumb.

the biggest thing that bothers me about Reddit is how hypocritical they are about religion. on one hand they're all peace, love, positivity, accept everyone!!1 unless you're Christian, in which case you're an idiot and you should be bashed/downvoted. /r/atheism isn't so much about being absent of a religious philosophy as it is about bashing Christians.
