I recently picked up the Bose QC35's.

They're pricey as hell, but I absolutely love them. Wireless is amazing, and they have perfect clarity for phonecalls (I do a lot of conference calls for work while on the road/working from home) and the sound quality is pretty damn good.

Battery life is absolutely bonkers. Literally, they will last you weeks before having to recharge them if you're not using them all day every day.

The only gripe I have is the "white noise/active noise cancelling". You can definitely hear it when there's no audio playing. But I'd totally buy these again. Also, they're super comfy.

I bought them and promptly returned them to BestBuy and got my P7's.

Here's my spiel on Bose. The audio quality (music specifically) has gotten better but I wouldn't put them up there with B&Ws, Sennheiser, some Sonys, etc in terms of over the ear quality. Having used/owned the 25's the 35's are an improvement. I think they're slightly over priced at $350.

My biggest complaints are they still feel "cheap" and are made of plastic. My QC25's broke and I've read reports of the 35's eventually breaking too. If I'm paying over $300 for headphones I want metal and leather.

Also yes the active NC I can't stand. It's great on a plane but I still believe it ruins the audio quality for me. I'd rather use my Shure's with passive noise isolation and get far superior audio quality with a little engine rumble in the background.

If the #1 thing you want is awesome active NC then get the Bose. If that's secondary to you there are many better options out there for over the ear headphones (B&W's or Sony mdr-100x).

My P7's FEEL nice. They're leather and metal and just look classy AF:

I have Bose Quiet Comfort 25s. Great to have on a plane, which is really the only time I use headphones. Decently portable.

so far love the mdr-1000x minus the microphone when using them as a headset - that's not their primary or intended purpose by me but they'll definitely be used for that from time to time

What are some good ones nowadays? My earbuds are fine but mess up my earwax production.
