This sort of scandal/cover up stuff fascinates me I guess in the same way people are drawn to TMZ and gossip magazines. There's a documentary on Netflix called Go Tigers! about a town that's almost a dead ringer for Stubenville. Massallion is a small town in Ohio, shitty economy, puts its identity in the HS football team, the players are put up on a pedestal, etc. The stadium seats like 30,000. Legendary NFL coach Paul Brown was a Massallion alum and professional football actually originated in nearby Canton where the Hall of Fame is.

You could see where this type of thing could happen. Basically if they tried to cover this up there's no telling what kind of shit has gone on without any punishment or accountability. It's not like you can bring the NCAA in there to conduct some full-scale investigation a la Chapel Hill.
