What the fuck was the deal with Nick being in an insane asylum and writing a book? It was absolutely unnecessary to the narrative.

I never really thought it had a chance, as the book is one of the great American novels. It wasn't the worst possible insult to the work, but it was mostly average as a movie.

I enjoyed it. Rhapsody in Blue playing during Gatsby's intro was my favorite part.
