I have a coworker who got 30 days in County jail for his 2nd DUI and a DWLS. (his license was still suspended from the first DUI). He did the weekend thing at the county jail where you "check in" on Friday night and "check out" on Sunday night. No internet, no cell phones. Just a pay phone and a TV.

I didn't have a prison term at all. My charge was dismissed. The worst I got was six hours in the drunk tank after I turned myself in. It wasn't even overnight. To be honest, jackleg had it worse, with an overnight stay before his arraignment. I remember the judge was not very pleased that we showed up at his arraignment to support him, and we got a talking to from the bench.

I know, just the circumstances for why he is in prison is pretty shitty and terrible, and I know that this has been really hard on him. I really thought they were not going to send him to prison because of the circumstances, and self defense/defending a person he thought was in danger, but I was clearly wrong

anyway, I was HOPING people who knew would have the decency to shut up considering that this is traumatizing to him, and maybe just wait for him to tell his story if he wanted to. That is what I feel like friends are for... but whatever
