my good friend Bryan from back home (Gville) was shot at 8am, point blank, going to class in Greenville in like 2002.

He was being robbed, Bryan put up a fight, the gun came out and Bryan grabbed this kid's leather coat before he could get away, cellphone in pocket.

The kid who shot my friend was actually a fellow student of ours in high school.

Greenville is a terrible place.

Well, I like being back in Greenville, but I'm ten miles outside of Greenville near Ayden. I get country living with the amenities of a city (small city, but still a city). Violent crime seems to be contained to certain areas of the city. Plenty of property crime all over town, but violent crime isn't as widespread.

I live in Greenville, and I feel like the idea behind the movie "The Purge" is the norm here. I'm awake now because I keep hearing noises outside and people are always walking around 24/7. And I live in a pretty good area.

I used to think Greenville was like Mayberry or something people seemed so friendly there, maybe I was just smashed every time I went there.

http://www.regionqyouthatwork.org/Pitt-County-Archive_copy.htm

Lakim Faust enrolled in the Pitt County Youth @ Work Program in 2008. While in the program he has accomplished many goals and overcomed many obstacles. For the past year, he has worked at the Lucille Gorham Intergenerational Center in maintenance, ground keeping and mentoring. In August, he was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for his valuable support at the Yes 21st Century Community Learning Center. During the summer, Lakim received a certificate of completion for a food and beverage training course given by East Carolina University Department of Hospitality Management and Martin County Community Action Program. Currently, he is enrolled in a weatherization program and hopes to complete this program by December 17, 2010. In January, he plans to attend Pitt Community College for classes.

Lakim can be described as an outgoing, dedicated, and enthusiastic person. When asked to volunteer, he is the first to accept the assignment. Recently, he was asked to take the American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Training. He completed that course and received certification. Lakim spends his down time lending a helping hand to his neighbors, friends and family. But his real love is his music; he enjoys composing, listening, and playing his music. One of his goals is to own his own record studio and record his own music.
