allegations do not equal liability or actual fact. ugh, i hate the fact that people are taking allegations as fact before there's even been a hearing or a trial on the merits. the phrase "having your day in court" is specifically for this reason.

the complaint and the press release by the plaintiff's attorney said she was dropping "nigger" around left and right during her time as the boss. deen's depo says she never said any of that, but she had used the word before. everything else is speculation. it's very possible she was lying or at least obfuscating some of the facts, and it's possible that the plaintiff is lying or embellishing some of the events.

I thought the lawsuit was also over the allegations that black employees were paid less and promoted less frequently than their white counterparts, and that black employees were assigned to back of the house roles while white employees and "lighter skinned black employees" were given front of the house jobs.

Either way racial harassment by an employer is illegal as well.
