No such thing, at least in the sense that you're talking about. A stall can happen happen at any attitude and essentially any airspeed (within structural limits--above a certain point you'll break the wing before you'll stall it). You can be at zero airspeed and not stalled, too, if you are able to keep the wing below its critical angle of attack (AoA, or "alpha"). the danger there is not having enough control authority to do that without falling into the stall regime.

that aircraft doesn't really fly inverted as effortlessly as more modern, higher-performance craft, so I'm not exactly sure what's normal, but it looked like he was pushing a TON of negative alpha, like maybe he was too slow? I don't know much about wing walking, but I'm guessing there's a fine line between being too slow for the maneuvers and too fast for the wing-walker (wind blast). Whatever the problem was, he realized it and tried to roll it back upright, but didn't have enough altitude/attitude/control authority to do it before impact.

When you're that low, you can't really fuck up much by entering or performing a maneuver off parameters, especially in an airplane like that (as opposed to a modern unlimited-class monoplane, or some hot-rod Pitts-variant, with a much larger flight envelope, much more control authority, and probably at least double the power:weight).

Says the man 1/2 a foot shorter than me who probably weighs within 20lbs of me... Plus, anyone's weight has nothing to do with this, once again

There is horrible logic here. The other things you mentioned people are doing them in spite of them being somewhat dangerous, not BECAUSE of them being dangerous. Such as the moronic obesity argument, your point would be correct if someone ate a lot because they knew it is bad for their health and that's why they did it, to intentionally tempt fate, not for any other reason. Or someone smoking not because they like it or are addicted but because its risky!!

How many times can you walk on to the wing of an old-timey plane that's flying upside down and reasonably expect to live?

I think you're jealous.

You could obviously never wingwalk (even if you wanted to), and if you ever tried to iron your clothes on a dangerous ledge it would probably give way.

People do not do risky activities just because of the risk. They do it because its exhilarating in spite of the risk just like you're claiming people that overheat do. The difference is most people engaging in risky activities obsessively examine the risk and know every risky factor or accident as opposed to people who don't even check their tire pressure.

Shit happens and careless people get weeded out. That doesn't mean everyone who has a higher risk threshold than you is a yahoo.

The pilot should have checked the wing for low flight pressure.

^^ no, not at all the same. No one, ok, 99.9999% of people just so that you can say there may be one weirdo somewhere in Australia, but virtually no one, eats/smokes something unhealthy for the soul purpose of eating something unhealthy. Not talking taste, or something they are addicted to, or even "I am going to splurge tonight and get a cookie" or anything, but purely because "this is bad for me, yay!" But with this stuff, they are doing it because of the risk. If it was safe, they wouldn't do it. Just like being on a plane and being 1000s of feet in the air? Book a flight on Delta then. "But but that's not extreeeeeeemmmme!!"

Shit happens in high risk situations all the time. Rock climbing, dude tightrope walking over the Grand Canyon right now, skydiving, stunt planes, bikes, etc. people want to push the envelope. If we never did anything with risk, Columbus would have never found the New World, the Wright Brothers would have never figured out flight, and space flight and undersea exploration would not exist. So while their risky behavior may be of no value to you, they are to themselves and others.

And that's not what I'm saying, in fact i already explained away what you just tried to state. All of those things had a purpose and weren't done for NO other reason than being risky. Flying a plane from the 1920s or even more, standing on its fucking wing, isn't some crazy new ground breaking discovery. It isnt = going to the moon for the first time in human history. Come on man.

It's immature, passive aggressive people who hide behind anonymity and don't say a word once they meet someone in person, and hell, half of them are my size or bigger. I just chose not to be a little bitch online.

If you are in a discussion with someone about a totally unrelated subject and your argument is "you are fat", then yes, that's childish. And as usual, the guy talking shit has no pics of himself in his gallery. Imagine that.

I was asking if you felt good after doing something amazing?

Getting to the root of why people do exhilarating things?

Or maybe your life is just terribly boring?

Fat people do amazing things all the time.

In my experience fat people who are terribly defensive about being fat, or see fat-related insults in everything, are typically the stereotypical lazy, lethargic, and angry fats.

I've been skydiving 13 years and BASE jumping for 12 years. I've met thousands of skydivers, paragliders, and base jumpers from all walks of life: doctors, lawyers, captains of industry, extreme skiers, and navy seals. People skydive purely because it feels like flying. Someone may do their first jump because they want a rush or its dangerous but that is not why 99% continue it as a hobby. I would be lying if I said there weren't people that have a death wish but they aren't the majority.

Look at indoor skydiving. The Challenge of learning to fly your body is the attraction. If you can't see that you have no imagination.

^I have an issue with heights so I'm pretty sure I'd shit myself jumping out of a plane. But I would LOVE to do the indoor skydiving thing. That doesn't bother me nearly as much and looks like it would be a helluva lot of fun.

^^^

what you said about the indoor sky diving is my point. People would just do that all the time if they weren't intentionally trying to do something dangerous. But they dont, they continue to actually sky dive. And my point is I just dont feel the need to do that to be happy in life. I could try snake charming a deadly cobra, I'm sure it would be a rush, but I have no desire. I'm sure Russian Roulette would be the most insane, adrenaline rush ever, once again, I feel no need to attempt that to complete my life.

What you don't seem to get is that the appeal of skydiving vs. vertical wind tunnel diving is not the fact that skydiving is more dangerous. The whole experience is completely different.

You can't watch a sunset for twenty minutes under canopy from 12000 ft, Have an eagle fly with you after you open far away from everyone else, or see your reflection in a cloud in the tunnel. It's also more fun to dive 200 ft under you and come to a stop mere feet from your friends and the view is better. A 16 ft room is great for figuring out precision flying but having the whole sky is more fun.

There are plenty of things I said I'd never try or do as a kid and then i grew up and realized a life of discovery and wonder is more fun. Bet you eat chicken tenders and fries while traveling if you ever do.

First part made me tear up.

Second part, I have no idea what that means. If you dont jump out of a plane you eat generic food when maybe traveling? What?

But ok, so you would play Russian Roulette?

The benefit : risk factor of russian roulette is abominably low. playing russian roulette is incredibly stupid. You say that you think you would get the ultimate rush from it, which suggests to me that you have incredibly bad tastes in 'fun'

The riskiest thing I would do is go to space. I think success is like 1/60. The reward risk ratio is pretty high for that whereas Russian roulette would be low.

You still don't get it isn't just about the risk.

^^ I didnt say a good rush, just a rush.

And the reason why you wouldn't play Russian roulette is the same reason i have no desire to skydive. The benefit doesn't interest me enough to compensate for the risk. If someone held a gun to my head and made me skydive I am sure it would be exhilarating (good or bad) but it doesnt interest me enough or fill some void in my life to choose to voluntarily do it. Thank God

^ok, you're doing it again... your perception is that people do interesting, fun, inherently risky things because its "extreeeeeme", but its more because they find those things to be worthwhile pastimes full of unusual, unnatural, and highly entertaining facets that you don't get with your feet on the ground.
