I mean, many people today are all about legal rights and protections, and making sure the whole concept of reasonable doubt is upheld... well in SYG cases, this is the reality. I'm not saying adjustments and improvements to SYG shouldn't be made (obviously there should be, GZ should be in jail for manslaughter or a equivalent charge).

^The intent and widely viewed interpretation for that is murder. Unless you are at home, then you have presumed fear and thus self defense. Or if you were physically attacked, which would also be self defense. Someone simply "getting" in your face in public isn't grounds for deadly force.

my perspective on the case changed when I heard that that particular neighborhood of ~200 homes had logged 400+ 911 calls in the 12 months preceding the shooting.

that tells me that GZ probably had a right to be suspicious and it

justifies his attitude. there is a huge crime problem in this particular neighborhood.
