Moka Only might be, but I dunno...I tend to rely on how an artist sounds when I judge them, not their religion

For example, I think Wu-Tang is dope, even though many of them are 5%ers who hate white people...their music is still good...unlike Drake's

That's not why they hate on Drake, they hate on drake because he is the purveyor of lyrical cuddles. When they hate on him they bring up religious things and other things that they think makes him soft, and that is lame as hell. But his religion isn't WHY they are hating on him. If he was a better rapper, and stayed truer to his mixtape days, then you wouldn't be hearing nearly as much hate.

And no, him becoming popular isn't why people think he sucks now. Look at Kendrick. He became popular, and everyone thinks he's awesome, because he can actually rap.

I don't know what makes you think we're down to a handful of true rappers - there's plenty of good artists out there right now. Unfortunately, the industry has changed into being about what sounds catchy enough to sell albums immediately instead of producing an album with quality lyrics and staying power. I haven't listened to a single album recently that I think I'll still be listening to 20 years from now like I am with Ready to Die, Aquimini, The Score, Enter the Wu Tang, the Chronic, and All Eyez on Me.

ok I'm biting.

I'm not a hater of modern hip hop nor do my balls bake in 90's hip hop all day. I dont live in the past but I see the game as a whole. My only complaint is that I dont understand why mainstream hip hop is not as broad as it use to be. There was a time where everyone did gansta rap but that didnt' last long. Saying Drake cant rap is a person who lives under the floor boards. I dont care about his material. i dont care about about him being fake. One thing. Are you good at your craft? I have heard drake rap his ass off.

on the other foot saying Lamar isn't good is a person who lives in the grave. look at the fire he started. it gets me pumped. Niggas coming out the caves with responses. its these wack ass shitty beats that make me not even listen to the new spittas. its all fake bass and sounds like the beats were made doin shrooms on a spaceship or some shit

its hard to listen, the producers are killin hip hop IMO (ok killing is a strong word, and not true at all, bbut its less enjoyable for me personally)

thats why i like KRIT he makes his own beats and he flows to them, not some producer shoppin some beat that a nigga just raps over. and them shits knock...no electronic spaceship crap.

ive noticed also that if you play "good" hip hop at college bars and shit full of white kids, they do enjoy it and they want more. unfortunately thats not whats pushed to them
