I don't think anyone calls them terrorists because of the origins of the religion. I actually think that designation has a little more to do with more recent events.

Don't get me wrong, people who call all Muslims terrorists are total idiots, but nobody does it because of Muhammad.

Oh I definitely know that most people who call Muslims terrorists is because of events of the past 15 years.

But, there are plenty of people who also call Muhammad a terrorist, warlord, and other choice words because of the tenets of the religion and his actions, and following from that, they say all Muslims are also terrorists because they believe in what their terrorist Prophet taught/did. Most such people voice their beliefs online in forums so they can do it anonymously, but there are some who are famous -- politicians, pundits, thinkers, scientists around the world -- and do it publicly.

Then they should just renounce the Pope and become Baptist. They currently aren't Christian and are definitely all going to hell.

Seriously though my MIL is a raging Southern Baptist bitch who has told us on numerous occasions that the Pope, and especially Francis, is basically Satan himself in the flesh. I don't see the hate as he is trying to address some of the biggest fucking hypocrisies of the Catholic Church and he's approaching it all with great humility. He is probably the most Christ-like Pope in years.
