That was the worst episode of the season, which means it was fucking horrible.

Whatever writer decided that it would take Marshall the better part of a week to drive from Minnesota to NY should be dragged out back and shot. And then these fucktards put him on a bus to Farhampton?!? Marshall would have taken the train.

All this shit is so fucking dumb. Seems like they're making Ted queerer by the day too, which at this point is no small task.

I'm not quite sure why I'm still watching. I mean we already know who his mother is (too good for him). I guess I just need closure, haha.

Seems like the only episodes watching are the ones with the mother. It sort of makes sense. Your main crew writes those episodes and you get the vegetables to write the others.

I Googled it -- I guess I must have forgot because I don't remember this at all but Marshall let Barney take the ducky tie off in exchange for three more slaps meaning last night's one was actually #7. That's what all the ones that Boys II Men were singing about.

Speaking of which, I thought it was hilarious that they got Boys II Men to sing about slapping.

The Boys II Men part was funny, but I don't know why they chose to do that now instead of after the final slap (unless thats going to be quick and unexpected). Overall, this episode was just bad and annoying. I'm guessing the writers hoped it would be carried by the slap alone.

well they had to set up a lot of the events that led to her being able to tell her story up to those parts. but yes, they should have figured out a way to mix her story in during the other episodes instead of cramming it all in one.

There was a lot in that episode that was great. Cameos (of sorts) from a lot of Ted's exes. Barney passing on what he has learned. Marshal and the ghosts (especially his father). Granted on the last point Lily gave up too easily, so I hope that it gets revisited a bit more.

Then again, it was once again another Ted-can't-get-over-Robin episode. Two seasons ago they promised this crap was over, but it was a cornerstone for these last two seasons. Unfortunately, I don't think its over yet. The locket will once again come back into play and the topic of the former relationship will once again drag an episode into the dirt.
