From the page that glassssss linked http://jalopnik.com/biker-at-start-of-terrifying-range-rover-attack-arreste-1433776499

Quote :
"It's also in this first stop when Lien takes off for the first time, which is when one rider got his legs broken, according to earlier police reports. One Facebook group titled "Justice for Jay Meezee," however, claims that the rider was named Jeremiah Mieses (pictured below in the purple shirt on the green motorcycle), and that his injuries extend far beyond broken legs.

Broken Spine, Broken Ribs, Crushed Lungs, Busted Aorta and the list is endless! Currently in a Coma and Paralyzed from the waist down!!"

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Justice-For-Jay-Meezee/411664345601619

This pages says the truth is that the purple shirt guy got off his bike only to help the white shirt one who got lightly bumped. And the he got run over. I don't understand, if he got run over, how come the white shirt guy didnt also get plowed over? That means the white shirt guy had been moved out of the car's path. If so, why was the purple shirt guy still in front of the car? They also say that during the first stop, the car was not being harmed. Who knows?!

Too many unanswered questions and missing holes in the facts, but at the end of the day, they placed themselves in harm's way by terrorizing civilians. As I said, you can't corner a cat with kittens and then complain when it scratches the fuck out of your face. They might think it is funny and expect people to behave rationally in that situation, but it is fucking scary to any human in any car to be forced to stop and surrounded by 30 bikes suddenly. Sorry, you can't think rationally in that situation and you do what you have to do to save yourself and your family, because normally good people who mean no harm don't for no reason force a car to stop and swarm around it, only thugs do it.

P.S. The page is also asking for donations for his hospital bills.

I am not mad, just trying to figure out what happened. They are blaming the car driver for running them over, I am just trying explain how most people would also get the fuck out of there if suddenly surrounded by a swarm.

That FB page is funny... the creator keeps posting statuses such as the one below, but most people keep on posting very negative anti-biker and pro-azn responses and even wishing they all died, etc.

Quote :
"Jay Meezee is the one on the green Bike with Black helmet purple shirt!!! He is AWAY from the Rang Rover and if you watch the video you will see he was just riding minding his own business.. He witnessed an accident and got off his bike went to the ground to help the biker that was hit!!! He was being a good Samaratin a person with an amazing heart that will always do for others!!! he was on the ground attending to an injured person and was run over like an animal!!!!"

They make it sound as if he wasnt even part of the group and just happened to see an accident and went to help.

Have an hour to spare?

http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/the-footage-that-the-nyc-bikers-didnt-want-you-to-see-1435594427

Quote :
"Footage that the NYC bikers didnt want you to see (7 more)

Naturally, as we've seen so many times in the past, if you upload something of interest on the internet, it's not going to go away just because you removed it. In this case, a Liveleak user purportedly downloaded the videos from Michelinman900's channel and shared them with the world.

"A few videos pulled from the guy's YouTube account which he has now removed because it shows the behavior of the group at what I believe is before the incident with the Range Rover," said userMixedWithFruit.

There's roughly an hour's worth of footage in the seven videos, in which the bikers are more of a nuisance, though, sometimes, they do put themselves and other drivers to risk with their actions. For example, they pass red lights on several occasions (4th video at the 1:20 mark and 6th video at 10:00)), they enter opposite lanes, and ride on pedestrian sidewalks (last video at the 1:15 mark)."

BTW, why did they post any of the videos online? Are they stupid?

If this isn't a case for not performing road maintenance..... There should be mandatory road width potholes every mile.

The guy injured (32 with 2 kids and is an "aspiring rapper"...) by the Range Rover was with the group. Boston Globe had details on his driving history:

His last contact with the Registry was in 2001, when he obtained an identification card, registry records show.

Since 1999, he has been ticketed by police 16 times, in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire, according to registry records.

In June, the Registry notified the National Driver Register that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender whose right to drive in Massachusetts was revoked until 2017, records show."

NYPD only arrested 2 drivers, and has since dropped charges against 1 of them.

As a motorcyclist, this enrages me more for the fact that this gives us bikers a terrible name with these squidy bastards. I won't lie, I've been there, done that; stupid shit on public roads, but it was away from traffic or done on private roads/parking lots.

I rarely take the bike out of the garage and mostly just take them on the track; much safer and in the end, cheaper as well as way more fun.

First paragraph:
Quote :
"New York (CNN) - For now, no one is charged in Sunday's attack on an SUV driver who was chased on Manhattan's West Side, dragged from his car by motorcyclists and beaten."

Further down:
Quote :
"On Wednesday, misdemeanor reckless endangerment charges against motorcyclist Allen Edwards were dropped. The 42-year-old biker had originally faced charges of reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and menacing, the New York City Police Department said."

That's why it says, "For now, no one is charged."

Because there are currently no charges.

But they had originally charged 2 with the attack and have since dropped the charges.

There's also the problem that the CNN article keeps getting updated, and any cited text or information gets changed every few hours.

based on what i've seen, this was all pretty much the fault of the bikers. i saw the video of the first biker who slowed down because he wasn't paying attention (or intentionally, i dunno) and was looking at the bikers beside him, and so he got hit.

then all the bikers surround the SUV and start fucking it up...it's really hard to blame the driver for trying to escape given the bikers' behavior. i don't know if it's true but i think he stopped his SUV when he hit the biker to check on him and things and the bikers lost their shit.

it is very unfortunate that the one biker got run over, but when all those bikers were banging on his car and other aggressive things, was he really expected to just stay put?

Squids aren't exactly the smartest people. If anything, they are considered the jocks of the motorcycle world, while actual road racers are the geeks and nerds.

why the hell did he not try to stop the attack?

Quote :
"An off-duty, NYPD undercover officer was among the pack of motorcyclists who chased a Financial District family up the West Side Highway — and he stood by as the dad was hauled from his car and beaten, The Post has learned.

The unidentified narcotics officer only came forward Wednesday night, four days after the caught-on-video biker predation, and is described as a motorcycle hobbyist who rides with Front Line Soldiers, a New Rochelle-based group that also counts several other cops among its members, a source said."

Stopping the attack comes later. This raises so many questions?

1) how can a cop be part of a group that goes around flouting the law?

2) do the others know he is a cop?

3) how come he let it escalate in the first place?

4) why didnt he stop the attack?

EDIT: I thought it said off-duty, not undercover. Still some questions have to be answered. How can he take part in an activity that puts lives of civilians at risk? Why didnt he stop the attack? He didnt have to reveal what he is, he could have simply defused the situation.

Not to get too off topic but...
Quote :
"An increasing number of police officers are forming motorcycle clubs, and hundreds now exist nationwide, according to experts on motorcycle gangs. Gang investigators fear that such clubs, some of which have the trappings of outlaw biker groups, can hurt the credibility of law enforcement and undermine criminal cases brought against traditional gangs."

It was reported that some of the members of the motorcycle club were NYPD officers. They didn't have a valid reason for 'forgetting' to either report the incident or turning themselves in.

Appears as though they participated in these illegal events and were not undercover.

Better be glad this was somebody without a CCP. If they had done that shit and then started trying to bust windows and attack my family, that would have felt threatened enough to use deadly force.

That said if I could! I would have been on the phone with 911 and driven to the nearest police station. Obviously he may not have known the area and hindsight is 20/20.

The SUV driver should have taken more of them out when they attempted to chase (causing lead riders to crash and the others behind to pile into them).

I can't tell if treetwista is trolling.

Also these fuckers drive dirt bikes and four wheelers through the streets and it's fucking annoying. Packs of bikes, motorized or not, are a pain in the ass.

Also if this Asian guy had a gun these guys would have killed him. If someone pulls a gun on 30 bikers that guy is going to get beat to death.

The guy was pulled from his car and beaten after running a few over. I doubt gun fire would have diffused the situation. They already saw a gun get smashed.
