^^ Never played fantasy basketball before but I just joined

So if I am reading this correctly, you just play one person per week and their teams compete in the eight scoring categories. Whoever wins the most categories at the end of the week wins the matchup. Is that right?

Yeah, I'm in. I played last year with some friends, drafted while hammered and had a very mediocre season. It was not a very active league, a lot of ambivalent owners. I hope that we have some more interested owners.

I think the Rockets are really going to surprise a lot of people this year.

Dwight's never played with an elite offensive player before (I don't think you can count Nash since he was banged up last year and clearly not quite the same player he used to be).

If he can just concentrate on doing what he does best offensively and get back to dominating defensively... The rockets have so much depth and so much complementary talent that they could absolutely run train on the league in the regular season.

The playoffs are another story, they aren't a DOMINANT playoff team but they are certainly contenders and there's no way they don't have homecourt throughout if they stay healthy this year.

When the week is finished the score looks pretty similar to that of an actual NBA game.

you can't beat the heat without dominant big men. even with all 3 okc was never going to beat miami. houston has a better chance. Indiana had it but they took hibbert out and lost 2 games at the end just like that. miami will never lose a series to a team without a dominant center on the floor.

Ibakar and Parkins already brought heat a lot of trouble in the finals. They were just too young last year. Harden and Westbrook are fast enough comparing with Wade and Chalmers. Durant will make many crazy long shots to kick LBJ's ass.

Duncan did make a difference in some of the games. A dominant center isn't the only requirement and it doesn't mean you are going to beat them but without one you certainly are not. You have to be able to protect the basket.

Remember the Spurs basically had them beat and choked game 6. Also Tony Parker was not 100%.

Season starts tomorrow so it wouldn't start scoring until next week. Since any day we draft between tomorrow and Sunday will start scoring next week, there's no rush to have it tomorrow. Probably more important to find a date that works for the majority.
