I want to see the initial design. I think it makes sense, but Shaw should really have a lot of input on the change on the east side since those streets run right through their campus. On the west side of Saunders, I'm in favor of making South 2-way between S Saunders and Dawson.

In regards to other traffic design issues:
-I'm in favor of the Blount/Person corridor plan
-I'm disappointed that the street level crossing option got nixed for the Peace-Capital interchange.

1) I'm all about feeding the hungry, but doing it in the park on the weekend had bad side effects. agreements are being made to move it to a city-owned property a block away. seems like a pretty good solution.

2) If someone is fat, then they are fat. I never described anyone as unhealthy, just accurately described fat people as fat. It's definitely possible to be fat and healthy. kim kardashian is fat.

3) I get that y0willy0 is trolling, and I like that, but his tenacity (and occasional obviously angry outbursts) make me suspect that he actually has some real grudge against me. As far as I know, I have never met y0willy0 and am completely at a loss as to why he is so obsessed with me.

Let's talk about how the Capital-Peace interchange should be an at-grade, street level interchange. Both of the two remaining options are terrible and won't fix the pedestrian issue of no one wanting to walk under those two bridges at night.

I must be the only person that likes this user more than hates. I don't agree with him on the fat thread or whatever, but who gives a fuck, other people have opinions. i meant west of Dawson, I definitely think it should be two way there.

in regards to drug dealers, I think that they should crack down on the area. They have recently done a lot to clean up drug dealers and prostitutes in the Oakwood area, so I think that is a prime candidate for their next target with the development that is planned in the area. In the long term I think Raleigh should redevelop those projects similar to Chavis Heights or Stonybrook

Yeah, I don't agree with everything he says, and he takes a pretty hardline stance on some of it (ie capital punishment), but he's far from the worst or most inflammatory user we have on this site. At least he's consistently active, posts coherent thoughts and doesn't waffle on his opinions just to make you fucks happy and be liked.

One of the agenda items for tomorrow's city council meeting is the issue of road closures in Raleigh. Lots of people, myself included, have been complaining about the increasing number of road closures downtown for parades, runs, marathons, etc... The marathons and runs are the real issue, they close a lot of roads for a good amount of time and they seem to have one almost every god damn weekend. Drivers, residents, and churches are starting to complain a lot.

Raleigh should use other parts of the city instead of having so many of them downtown. City staffers are proposing that the city add 3 positions (total $225k per year) to handle the street closure requests. Instead of doing that, they should limit the number of races by district.

this is an issue even where I live. They just need less "runs" (especially the pointless ones) and stuff in general. A couple I work with are putting on a run that benefits nothing, isn't interesting or anything, and costs like $40. Somehow they already have a lot of people signing up. They're basically doing it just to make money. More power to them if people are that stupid, but that's all we need is another race when it doesn't even serve a purpose other than the make money for the "organizers" (who did nothing but fill out the permits for the road closures and make a wordpress site).

I should rephrase.

The City of Raleigh is not a mobile coffee company.

That seal is not a terrible design in general, but is far too cartoonish for a city that's 221 years old.

i think it should feature oak leaves more prominently. the laurel leaves are larger, eff that. and if there were a census of oak trees in Raleigh, I bet red oak would be more numerous than white oaks. but a little leaf diversity don't bother me none. throw a willow oak up in there, see if i care.

I wish more of them were mid rises, but I'm in favor of more housing. The ones at CV are ugly, the apartments by the Archer Building don't match the area.
