I have basically decided that most US media outlets are crap. The only segments I can really stand to watch are the 30 minutes of evening world news on broadcast networks. However, even those are pretty soft at times. BBC World News is tolerable. I have trouble believing that most of this celebrity gossip "news" and talking heads are what audiences really want. I can't deal with it. While I would say I generally lean conservative, Fox News is so pandering that it's unwatchable. I've tried CNN and MSNBC as well. They are all junk. Local news is even worse.

This clip is pretty old, but is one of my favorites, as it really frames what a joke most of these shows are:



PS, if anyone can recommend a news source for someone interested in real news and world affairs that is presented without overbearing bias, please share.

I liked Al Jazeera America a lot, but moved a year ago and had to switch from fios to Cablevision which unfortunately does not carry it. It was pretty straightforward no bullshit news, which is kind of sad that it takes a Qatari network to bring us decent journalism.
