Well employers do it for business reasons. Some people are offended by porn. It is better to have no employees connected to porn because you could offend possible customers once the rumors get out and you don't want that when trying to make a profit.

When I worked at the grocery store they made us sign a form that said, "You will be terminated if it is discovered that you appeared in porn, or talked bad about the company on social networks." I can understand the rule since local religious leaders and bible thumpers sometimes shopped at the store.
