I forget where we got the legos from. We do innovation consulting, and we use them for prototyping and ideation sessions.

I just slide my mat out of the way with my foot when I use my stool.

^ ha, you are crazy, it would take you about 2 minutes to "clean and organize" my desk. The only thing that needs to be cleaned off my desk are my lunch things (plate, fork, tea cup, and diet mountain dew can), and even those aren't exactly scattered across my desk. And of course I had just finished lunch since I was browsing tdub. The rest of the shit (phone, headset for phone, monitors, keyboard, mouse) is also reasonably put away.

Organizing the cables is a waste of time since I NEVER look under my desk and rarely have to move anything. My shelf is to the left of my desk. My coworkers is the one that is behind my desk (again I don't even see it since my desk and monitors block the view). The shit on top of my shelf is actually my coworkers, she had to clean off her windowsill since they cleaned the windows today.

I took a second picture showing my workspace (exactly as it was, no cleaning up). And it seems the panorama feature makes the monitors and shelves look crooked, but they are not.

Yes, I roll it up and put it to the side.

This is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EFK9KM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02

Ikea is now in the adjustable desk market. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19022530/

Here's a review: http://gizmodo.com/ikea-sit-stand-desk-review-i-cant-believe-how-much-i-l-1652445999

I've never stepped foot into an Ikea store, but I've heard how cheap there shit is. But I hope they drive down the prices.

See I don't need something that goes up and down. I sit enough in meetings and there's a table right behind me if I want to sit for a little bit. Doesn't seem worth the money for me.

Any recommendations for an adjustable standing desk converter (goes on top of an existing normal desk), that may accommodate 4 monitors (3 external + laptop display). Preferably something that maintains a lateral layout, as opposed to vertically stacking (though having the laptop centered, one stacked above it vertically, and then 2 externals to the side of the laptop would probably work.

My current desk is part of a cube; the desk is U shaped, with the left and right sides about 3 feet apart. I sit at the bottom of the U shape, such as shown below. My monitors, etc take up about 60" of width (from about the midpoint from one side to the other)

There are a lot of options for a couple monitors or laptop+monitor, what about using one of those and then a dual monitor arm stand for the other 2 that you can just grap and pull up when you raise the desk?

I ended up pulling the trigger last night and ordered a reclaimed wood desktop by Uplift:http://www.upliftdesk.com/uplift-stand-up-desk-with-reclaimed-wood-top/

Specs:
Size: 60" x 30"
Desktop Style: Reclaimed Douglas Fir Solid Wood
Frame Color: Black
Keypad: Advanced Keypad
Advanced Wire Management Kit
Casters
Half Circle Drawer
Keyboard Tray
Modesty Panel
Dual Monitor Arm

I'm probably gonna sell my 2 year old VariDesk Pro.

does anyone have an opinion on a bamboo top desk for light electronics work + computer desk? I'm worried bamboo might not hold up as well as regular woods.

My Uplift Desk came in early last week... took me almost a week to get everything setup the way I wanted it.

I like it, but I'm a little salty with my experience with Uplift's support. I spent almost $1500 on this desk and I was a little pissed off about their return policy.

When I customized my desk, I ordered accessories that won't fit this desk, or work with my setup. Two examples:
- the reclaimed wood desktop is thicker than the traditional tops, so the advanced wire management accessory is practically useless.

- The dual arm monitor isn't sturdy enough to hold my iMac... Right when I ordered the desk, Uplift changed their website... their new site included spec sheets, where I discovered that my iMac (21 lbs) is too heavy for the arm. I called support and explained and they said they'd charge me a 10% restocking fee and I have to pay for shipping to return.

I asked them if they could help by waiving the restocking fee or help with the return. If so, I'd be more than happy to purchase another dual arm monitor from them... but they said no.

I also was a little peeved how nonchalant they were when I called asking for help with assembly... she laughed saying "it's only a desk- don't worry. It's your desk, so you can customize how you like."

I told her I called for direction and I need some advice.

Anyway, here's a couple pics:

Forgot to mention that I ended up getting another dual monitor mount... the Bretford MobilePro Desk Mount Combo... it's nice, but big and bulky. It has an outdated look (think 2010 Mac), but this thing is strong as hell.

UPDATE: Uplift support contacted me to inform me they'd waive the restocking fee.
