Im sitting on the porch of my parents house in CB right now looking out over the ocean. Wind is picking up slightly and its been raining steadily all morning. They're draining the Lake so that it wont spill over and flood streets.

The good news is that its keeping all the crazy crowds away

I'll be at Indian Beach and then moving towards Morehead City/Atlantic beach once landfall happens.

Flooding is going to be the only real issue with this one I think.

New Bern update: slight wind and rain, nothing spectacular. 70 westbound is slammed with folks trying to get off the beach. If this storm passes overnight, I'm guessing that 70 eastbound tomorrow will be a nightmare with everyone returning.

I was going to leave Cary at 4PM and go to Morehead City by 7:30PM (was planning to anyway) but now that it's in the immediate impact area and the weather could be nasty, reconsidering until tomorrow morning.

A bunch of coastal towns are setting curfews.

- Morehead City and Beaufort begin their curfew at 11:00 p.m.

- Bogue Island (with the exception of Emerald Isle) begin their curfew at 11:00 p.m.

- Emerald Isle begins their curfew at 10:00 p.m.

I'm here at Atlantic/Pine Knoll...been driving around for a bit, was on the beach(stairs) a few min ago.

the winds have dramatically picked up in the past 30 min.

There are a few limbs down on the side roads...power still good, hasnt flickered at all.

Satellite went out hours ago.

The webcam wont set up right, the rain keeps messing with the focus. I did do a video on my phone right at last light, cant hear anything in it but you can see its whipping. I'll try to get it on youtube later.

Gonna go out right at eyefall and try and get video as well if I can. Last one i rode out here was a cat 3 so this shouldn't be bad. This part of the island holds up well to storms.
