I know this wasn't at CF, but my fondest memory of Calvin Johnson is destroying us in Atl only to have the winning TD go off his hands and picked. Can't remember who picked it off though.
V Ah yeah! Good find.

Greg Golden, maybe?
Quote : | " After driving all the way to the N.C. State 2-yard line, No. 24 Georgia Tech's second comeback attempt of the game ended with Garland Heath's interception in the end zone with 26 seconds left, saving the Wolfpack's 17-14 victory on Thursday night.
Georgia Tech had a first-and-goal at the 2 with 33 seconds left. Reggie Ball fired a pass in the end zone that hit the hands of receiver Calvin Johnson who was in the air as he was hit by Marcus Hudson. Heath grabbed the ball and got two feet down before going out the back of the end zone." |

kinda funny how they run a system with no qb and still get elite wrs coming in.

Y'all are noobs. I was at the Purdue game in 1993 or 1994 (?) that got delayed at the half due to a storm. We won like 20-7.
Was also at another monsoon in 1995 during a hurricane that we lost like 21-0 to a bad Baylor.
Of course, I was 11-12 years old for those. 9/9/2014 1:44:47 PM |

That's kinda dumb.
Top 3 in receiving yards:
Holt, Cotchery, Owen Spencer
For one thing, 3 WRs that caught passes from Wilson are in the top 10 in all-time catches at State. Jarvis Williams, Owen Spencer, George Bryan. And nobody was gonna break Holt's 31 TD record. Next closest is Cotchery with 21. Right after Cotchery...Jarvis Williams with 20. And Spencer and Bryan are 4th and 6th respectively with 17 and 15 TDs. So Wilson and Glennon clearly had plenty of fine options to throw to. They spread the ball out more.

Williams and Spencer were mediocre wrs and are at the top. that should say a lot. Plus they didn't get the best combination of years. Wilson's last 2 years plus glennons last 2 years. If they had those 4 years and not the prior years they would have even more yards/tds. THESE GUYS WERE NOT EVEN GREAT WRS.
Imagine if you replace Spencer or Williams with WR who had ALL NFL potential. 9/9/2014 6:41:04 PM |

So what you're saying is, hypothetically...if we had a future NFL WR and a future NFL QB at the same, they would be really good together?
I see your point. Cotchery/Rivers were mighty good together.

Maryland had 6 TOs and still won the game. It will be a shootout and extremely close.

I don't think it'll be a shootout. Our D has been pretty shitty, but USF has struggled offensively from what I've read. Poor QB play and their best WR has been injured (questionable to play this weekend).
Just looking at box scores, they ran the ball well vs Western Carolina, but their passing game wasn't anything special. Against MD they put up 257 total yards of offense. 15-37 passing and 37 rushes for 83 yards (2.2/carry). Maybe MD's D is stout...but I'm just not sure I see USF putting up 35+ or anything on us. Not that our D is good...but I think this game will be in the 20s. 9/11/2014 11:00:42 AM |

USF QB with the injured non-throwing arm is questionable. From what I've read, neither QB has been particularly good for them this year. Maybe similar to our QB situation last year. 9/12/2014 9:58:35 AM |

Bench is the guy we tried to recruit as a transfer when we got Mitchell instead. Supposedly he (Bench) is more "athletic" so I'd probably rather have the guy who was starting actually play against us.
Their starting LG and #1 WR are "still rehabbing." Not sure about the former, but I think the latter is listed as doubtful.
