Doesn't the fact that we're so average (or below average) historically make it more ok to take a chance on a guy like Doeren than stick with TOB? Not much to lose, right?

What I'm saying is, there's no need to go to bat for Tom O'Brien. Dude wasn't that good. Obviously nobody was hoping to go out and get a guy that's gonna start 0-11 in ACC play. But that's what we have now. And it's still early enough in Doeren's career for him to right the ship (the ship was already going in the wrong direction before he got here anyways). Firing TOB was the right move. Doeren's results so far have been bad. But that doesn't mean we should've kept TOB.

Fernandez is our best LB so losing him sucks. Our DBs are all pretty bad at this point so losing Josh Jones is not a big deal other than depth loss especially if anyone else gets hurt.

I guess the silver lining is more of our freshman will get some experience to build off in the coming years.
