Considering the NCAA didn't track blocking or steals in the 70's, how do they know how many blocks Thompson had? All they have is 40 year old sheet records based on a single stat guy. I'm all for Anya breaking the record, but Thompson didn't play any pussy pre-season games either.

I knew Anya was going to be good this year, my question marks were on Barber and "da twins".

After tonight they have the potential it seems, as long as they can keep this confidence vs. our competition.


Also it would not surprise me at all if Thompson blocked 10+ shots in a game, there were no 3 pointers and no dunks making the blocking potential go up.

Can yall imagine if Warren had stayed though? We would be a top 20 program right now, but I don't blame him at all for leaving for that amount of money and he was never going to be able to match those numbers in back to back seasons.

Best improvement from this game was that we were patient against the zone. Didn't throw up quick jumpers every time down. I hate seeing us take long 2s more than anything.

No doubt, and they were much smaller so our bigs were open alot. Still, there were a few sequences where if the first and second look weren't open, we would pass it around again. Monday night (and many times last year), we would bring it down and the first look was a damn black hole of bad shots. If Hofstra could shoot worth a damn, we would have lost big.

^^Yeah we were panicked completely by the zone vs Hofstra. Like we had never seen it before. Hopefully with a few more (fingers crossed) easy wins before our first big test vs Purdue we can get some of the offensive kinks worked out. Even tonight, the O wasn't great.

we've always been shit at the zone and its because of how we play against it. It worked today because that team had no size but we hold the ball still against the zone which is the opposite of what should be happening. Our players don't know where to go in this zone offense. the ball gets stuck on one side of the court and they just try to post guys up. Anya was out past the 3 point line when he really should be playing high post from the free throw line and staying home.

Yeah. Our guards didn't look too good against the zone tonight. They need to do a lot better about attacking the gaps of the zone. We actually might play a little better against the zone with Cat on the bench. His biggest weakness is turning the ball over in traffic, which is amplified when driving into the zone.

First time seeing Caleb get a lot of minutes. He's going to be a star. It'll be great having him coming off the bench.

Boise and Richmond are possibly better than Purdue. Just saying don't expect blowouts because they are both quality mid-majors.
