Last time this team had a 13-3 record was 1986.

Edit: just checked, 11 consecutive wins is tied for the all-time franchise record. They did it in 1969, 1972, 1986, and 1990. So, every other time they do it, they win the World Series.

Colon hasn't had an ERA higher than 4.19 since like 2007. Yes he's old. But nobody's expecting him to put up Cy Young numbers. He just needs to be serviceable. We've got the younger arms to anchor the rotation.

Unfortunate that it was the Yankees to break the streak, won't do much to help the "kid brother" mentality. But hopefully this can still be a series win.

I read somewhere that (iirc) Colon is only the 8th starter of the age of 40 to start 4-0 since 1920. Obscure stat, but still interesting to think about how well he's doing compared to his age.

We knew he was but Plawecki is going to be good. But no room for him and Travis behind the plate so one has to be trade bait eventually.

The ratio is a little skewed just because of it being only 1 walk. As soon as he walks a second batter then the ratio cuts in half. But still...one walk over 7 starts? Amazing.

Daniel Murphy fucked him. Throwing 25 more pitches because that asshole can't make a 50 foot throw destroyed a much more promising night. I can't imagine Noah having a worse defensive pairing behind him then Murph/Flores since high school.

Good point, but he had too many baserunners. He pitched his way out of it until the 6th, but if that many people are reaching base eventually they are going to start scoring.

The bullpen was off as well (not that it mattered with the Mets not keeping up offensively)

Scored 10 runs in the 4th inning...the same number of runs scored in the last 5 games combined (all losses).

Every starter got at least 1 hit, including deGrom going 3-3 in the 8th spot and Flores with a Grand Slam batting 9th.

Split with the Cards. deGrom retired 23 consecutive batters. 8 innings, 1 hit, 11 k's, 0 BB's. Crazy good effort. Duda 4 RBIs off 2 homers.

I don't know what the hell happened during the Cubs series, but going 2-1 against the Brewers and 2-2 against the Cardinals is pretty good. Losing 10-2 and 9-0 was not great, but it was just 2 games.

What concerns me is Colon. 2 straight awful starts. 9.1 innings, 18 hits, 15 runs (12 earned). Also finally gave up a couple of more walks. Bumped down to 2nd best K:BB ratio (46:3) behind Michael Pineda (55:3)

Tied for 1st! DeGrom took a no-hitter into the 6th, ultimately gave up 2 hits, 0 walks, while striking out 8 in a 7-0 win.

DeGrom's last 4 starts:
3-0 record, 29 innings, 14 hits, 1 walk, 34 strikeouts

As a team, the Mets have the lowest number of walks pitched at 103...the next lowest is 123. #1 team in K/BB ratio, team WHIP, pitches thrown per plate appearance, and opponent batting average.

DeGrom had another 10k outing. Pitching is so freakin' good but all these offensive holes are becoming a pain. Colon should be furious for not getting a win last night after the team couldn't score more than one run of support.

lol, our 4 and 5 hitters yesterday were Mayberry Jr and Campbell - hitting .165 and .176 respectively. highest BA in yesterday's lineup was .254.
