Quote : | "Removal of documents Within hours of the death of Vince Foster in July 1993, chief White House counsel Bernard Nussbaum removed documents, some of them concerning the Whitewater Development Corporation, from Foster's office and gave them to Maggie Williams, Chief of Staff to the First Lady. According to the New York Times, Williams placed them in a safe in the White House for five days before turning them over to their personal lawyer" |

THE WHITEWATER AFFAIR: WHITE HOUSE; New Misstatements Admitted In Handling of Foster's Files
Quote : | "WASHINGTON, Aug. 2— The White House said today that it had given a misleading account for months of how senior officials had disposed of files on President Clinton's Whitewater real estate investment that were found in the office of Vincent W. Foster Jr. after his suicide a year ago.
It was the third time since December that officials have acknowledged inaccurate or incomplete explanations of how they dealt with papers in Mr. Foster's office.
Under questioning by reporters, Mr. Clinton's spokeswoman, Dee Dee Myers, said today that Bernard W. Nussbaum, the former White House counsel who discovered Whitewater papers in Mr. Foster's office after his death, did not give the papers to the Clinton family's personal lawyer, as officials have said for a year.
Instead, Ms. Myers said, Mr. Nussbaum gave the files to Margaret Williams, the chief of staff to Hillary Rodham Clinton, who put them in a safe in the Clinton residence on the third floor of the White House. Five days later the papers were turned over to the Clintons' family lawyer. 'That Was a Mistake'
Ms. Williams was following the instructions of Mrs. Clinton, who was in Little Rock, Ark., at the time, the White House said. Mrs. Clinton's role in storing the papers was disclosed today in The Washington Post." |

Did I hear correctly that she bought her own email server (or whatever) to put in her house very shortly after she became SOS? Because that's really uncommon, especially when there are all types of free emails you can get. That's pretty sketchy. 3/5/2015 10:11:22 AM |

Hillary is a techie? And she just coinciendally decided to do it immediately after becoming SOS? Okay, maybe so.

Was it against the rules to have your own home-based email server, even if you set it up the same week you become SOS?
No?
Ok just checking. 3/5/2015 10:20:39 AM |

No. But that it's pretty sketchy. That's what people are saying, not that it's "illegal".

Yes I understand that you and a whole bunch of other people unreasonably think this is sketchy and are trying to make a bigger deal out of it than it really is.
I have zero problem with Hilldawg hosting her own email server as SOS as long as it didn't violate any rules, just like I have zero problem with other SOSs like Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, etc who have done the same thing.
Show me concrete proof that something nefarious actually occurred and I'll care. 3/5/2015 11:57:23 AM |

Eh, I would like more transparency in our government. If Colin and Condoleeza also hosted their own email server in their house, then that's pretty sketchy too. Especially if they started doing immediately after becoming the SOS.
you actually call her "Hilldawg?"

Barton GellmanVerified account ?@bartongellman I don’t care who the Clintons hired: it is not possible for a high value target to secure a home-managed email server. Except from FOIA.
Revealed: Clinton’s office was warned over private email use http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2015/3/3/govt-cybersecurity-source-clintons-office-warned-private-email-use.html
Quote : | "State Department technology experts expressed security concerns that then–Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was using a private email service rather than the government’s fortified and monitored system, but those fears fell on deaf ears, a current employee on the department’s cybersecurity team told Al Jazeera America on Tuesday.
The employee, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of losing his job, said it was well known that Clinton’s emails were at greater risk of being hacked, intercepted or monitored, but the warnings were ignored.
“We tried,” the employee said. “We told people in her office that it wasn’t a good idea. They were so uninterested that I doubt the secretary was ever informed.”" |

I agree this nonsense about her home server is, in fact, nonsense. Nerdy, old people have their own servers. That's how they roll. She's still shady, but yeah...
I dunno...I'm gonna need to get a good look at her ass before I decide how to vote.

^This is why I don't think this is sketchy; I believe this is a practice that is way more commonplace than people realize, and we're seeing it's employed on both sides of the isle.

Quote : | "Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton told reporters on Tuesday that she used her personal email account while serving as secretary of state because of convenience.
“Looking back it would have been better to use separate phones and two separate e-mail accounts,” Clinton said Tuesday during a press conference at the United Nations. “I thought one (mobile) device would be simpler. Obviously, it hasn’t worked out that way.”
The U.S. State Department announced on Tuesday that it will make Clinton’s emails publicly available on a website after a review that is expected to take months.
State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters at a daily briefing that the review, involving some 55,000 pages of electronic correspondence, is expected to take months.
Psaki said the department would soon release the text of its letter sent to other former secretaries of state, including Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell, both of whom served under Republican President George W. Bush." |

I wonder what Susan McDougal thinks about all this.
Quote : | " McDougal is one of the few people who served prison time as a result of the Whitewater controversy although fifteen individuals were convicted of various federal charges. Her refusal to answer "three questions" for a grand jury about whether President Bill Clinton lied in his testimony during her Whitewater trial led her to receive a jail sentence of 18 months for contempt of court. This comprised most of the total 22 months she spent in incarceration. McDougal received a full Presidential pardon from outgoing President Clinton in the final hours of his presidency in 2001." |

Quote : | "Hillary Clinton said she deleted emails stored on her private server during her time at the State Department because she "didn't see any reason to keep them."
The likely Democratic presidential candidate took questions from members of the media at the United Nations headquarters in New York Tuesday afternoon. Clinton took questions from reporters about the recent revelation that she kept a private server for her own email while she was serving at the State Department under President Barack Obama. Throughout the press conference, Clinton argued she had "fully complied" with the regulations and rules for turning over "work-related" emails. She also added that it was at her discretion to determine what were personal and what were work-related emails.
"Why did you delete the personal emails?" asked Ben Smith of Buzzfeed.
"Because they were personal and private about matters that I believed were in the scope of my personal privacy and that particularly of other people," Clinton said. "They had nothing to do with work, but I didn't see any reason to keep them."" |

I have 9,000 unread emails just in my gmail account. 30,000 seems like a pretty high number of PERSONAL emails to delete because she wanted privacy. Wasn't that the number she deleted? You really think she emailed just Bill 30,000 times? 3/11/2015 1:20:28 AM |
