I agree with him. The gun control discussion has gone on for far too long with no significant action, while more innocent people are murdered in mass shootings. At this point it doesnt look like we will ever control guns so why not just outlaw them completely? Easier to ban outright than try to figure out a method of legal ownership that keeps guns only in the hands of mentally stable, law-abiding citizens. Because really, how could we ever determine that reliably?

I tend to agree, I can't remember who originally said it, but it is definitely the case that gun massacres are the price we pay for gun freedoms. We are a country that does have a gun culture that needs to be acknowledged, but this makes tragedies like this more likely to happen, than if we did not have this kind of culture. Would this racism and anger have still existed without guns? Of course, but it would have been acted out in other ways...maybe arson, maybe bombs, maybe stabbing, maybe trying to run someone over in a car, maybe the guy would have been content to raging on the internet or saying the N-word while playing Call of Duty.
