When I was younger PJ STP & Nirvana were my favorite bands. Pretty sure I ranked them like this too: PJ > STP > Nirvana.

Now, years later after their stuff has stood the test of time it's more like: Nirvana > STP > PJ

And I know PJ still puts out music but in my opinion their sound changed after Vitalogy and I stopped listening to anything past that.

I saw STP twice; 2007 in NJ and a few years ago when they played at Red Hat. Awesome performance both times.

i've never really loved nirvana, and as i've gotten older i like them less. cobain just didn't do it for me.
