In theory you can keep both relationships. What your wife doesn't know won't hurt her.

Except she will know, I can almost guarantee she already knows you're up to something if she isn't fully aware of your cheating. When you're living with another person for a long period of time, whether roommates, friends or spouse, you can tell when behaviors, attitude and routines change even slightly.

You're kidding yourself if you think you will be able to keep your family in the dark.

Tell your wife about your side dick. Best chance is she will find him attractive too and you can swing openly. Worst case is she will leave you (which she will anyway) but at least your kids may not resent you forever.

Cheaters almost certainly make their normal home life sound worse than it really is to justify their actions. Beware of that if you are trying to make some life-changing decision and hope she comes along.

However, if you can keep it secret, you technically can do -- but as Noen said, even small changes in routines are very, very noticeable.
