wow, little leads whole race then blows tire on last lap. suarez passes him but runs out of gas and douches passes him back but then austin dillon passes them both even tho douche tried to pull a harvick and turn him

kyle is such a little punk. he threw a tantrum on the radio because race control didn't throw a caution for debris from his blown tire. what a bitch. if he had've been in Dillon's position and they had've thrown the caution, he would've thrown a tantrum too.

Auto Club, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Daytona in that order for me. This new low downforce package/new tire combo has been a homerun for nascar so far.

Chase Elliott with 3(should be 4) top 10s in his first 5 races. With the speed that team has shown, if they could just get their pit shit straightened out there could be a win in their future this season. Shoulda had a top 3 yesterday but it is what it is.

This will be 3 of the last 4 martinsville races i've been to. Saw Gordon win in fall of 14, saw Hamlin win in Spring of 15. Expect another great race and hope Chase Elliott can show well. That 24 has been incredibly fast there for the past 2 years.

I believe I, too, am headed to Martinsville this Sunday. Should be a good day and an easy trip.

At this point i'm going to rely on Stubhub for tickets...will I do better scalping? Craigslist?

A lot of people are hoping this turns out well. Bit of a toe in the water for other ISC trucks maybe promoting Indycar events.

Used to be part of the Copper World Classic festivities in the '80s and early '90s. For the weekend they would race USAC Silver Crowns there, supermodifieds, another unique division or two. I still get sad watching races from 1990 or 1991 CART that they have from that link and then about what happened afterward.

The '90 race at the link starts out with an interview with THE MAN, RICK MEARS!

Was good albeit kinda bullshit. Grosjean was the only car that hadn't yet gone in for a pitstop, and then Alonso had his big accident that brought out a red flag. FIA rules are you can work on the car all you want during a red flag. So Grosjean and Haas were able to change tires and lost zero field position to do it, which is such an unbelievable advantage to give someone, I don't know why that rule exists especially in a series like F1 where field position is such a more dominant role in the race compared to American circuit racing.

In a NASCAR pool where you can only select a driver once across the entire season. Any suggestions for Sunday?

Chevrolet has won 20/26 races there...

Johnson is 9/2...I'd go with him for this weekend.

As for season...

6/1 odds for:
Harvick
Kyle Busch
Jimmie Johnson

I think I explained the pool poorly. We pick a driver each week, and once you've picked that driver, you can no longer pick him/her. So, if I were to pick Jimmie Johnson, I couldn't pick him for the rest of the season. I'd like to save him for when he's +200 or +250 (can't remember which track, but he had that at one point last season)...

Surprised by the empty seats at martinsville today. Entire rows empty...

Decent race. Busch was the class of the field and it was obvious early on. I hate that smug asshole so much, but he can drive

I just don't think there's a big enough reason to go to the track anymore. And nascar doesn't care. The money is in tv deals now.

That's actually true with all sports. Staying home allows you to watch more games and switch if one gets boring. You can't do that in the stands.

Racing is a sport that's always better to watch live compared to on TV. There's no "ball" in auto racing that the camera can focus on 100% of the time and not miss anything else. Plus the contest continues during commercials.

kyle had a video of him signing a hat after the race and they played that crap on espn and today show like he actually cares about fans or something

i guess France is trying to make up for that BS $35k fine to Stewart by saying that if the 14 car wins at Dega with Ty Dillon driving Stewart still gets into chase.

^ well back when points used to matter, Stewart would've gotten the credit for the points from the win, but I think Dillon would've been the one credited with winning the race as far as recordkeeping went...so how is NASCAR going to handle that, both drivers qualify?

naw, the driver who starts always got the win. Nascar should say that if Dillon wins then Tony will get credit for the win in the record book but it NOT could towards the chase. Cause now if you are the owner of the car that will prob be 17th-30th after 26 races then you should try to get Ambrose to sub at watkins glen and sears point.

Danica's hit today on the backstretch when she got spun could've killed her without the SAFER barriers. That was nasty.

I'm not the biggest fan of the caution clock in the lower divisions. Last night they were running a clean truck race and then they threw a caution for no reason at all. At that point there were about 4, or 5 wrecks really quickly because the field was no longer spread out and they all got aggressive to make up some spots.

That's the whole point of the caution clock. Before that we had fake debris cautions. At least this way is fair.

I don't like the caution clock either, but it's an improvement from the debris cautions.
