Edit: My last place actually had some neighbors like that (no suicides though). Luckily, it was across the street and over one and their house was far back enough to where it was a mild annoyance. I'd hate to be living right up on that.

My old neighbors were Southeast Asian and cooked some truly vile smelling shit. Wasn't a big deal until I saw them using a gas grill on the fucking wooden porch. This a a fucking terrible fire hazard, but they didn't care. They were reported about 3-5 times (including pictures) and then when they were going to get evicted they claimed they got some advocacy group to say they didn't understand US rules and it was part of their culture and the community was being racist. So then they said they could not renew their lease and were gone.

Only other issues I have had is neighbors smoking too close or being loud once in a blue moon. Also some neighbors have had drunk/disoriented friends bang on the door. Normally I wouldn't care but when its a couple of gentlemen with dread locks banging loudly on your door late at night yelling "Open this motherfucking door" its a bit concerning. One guy argued with another neighbor for a while that this was where he was supposed to go, but it was obvious he was quite drunk and lost. That was a while back and since then has abated.

As opposed to a charcoal one? The gas grill would be much safer. Less likely to be knocked over, and you wouldn't be spilling hot coals everywhere.

And, I didn't realize this many people (supposedly) in their 30's lived in apartments. I feel bad for those kids on the first page who have to play in the halls :/. But whatever floats your boat.

Complain to me when I accidentally park in their drive way after a night out, blocking them in and making them miss a flight the next morning

Who cares, there were still 5 whole days before Xmas to get to your crappy family get together anyway

Sorry, should have elaborated. We are in an apartment because we can't sell our fucking home in eastern NC and houses are $texas in Carrboro, but the kids love the schools and don't want to move in the county where we could afford a house.

So the neighbors were cooking with a gas burner and gas tank on a wooden deck on the second of a three story apartment complex. This is a fire hazard. The complex has places to cook, but they were leaving shit cooking for hours at a time unattended. That is super against the rules and fire code.
