I saw several people on the drive from Goldsboro to Raleigh yesterday afternoon pulled over for doing less than 5 over the speed limit. I only know because I was traveling behind them and not making up any ground and I was only doing a couple over. Just glad those people were in front of me I guess. 3/28/2016 8:23:25 AM |

^Same thing happened to my wife this weekend. She was going 1-2 over the speed limit, car passes her on left but only going 2-3 more than her as they weren't just pulling away, cop goes around my wife and pulls that car over.
I've actually noticed most cars on 540 driving quite a bit slower than they were 2 weeks ago. 3/28/2016 8:59:23 AM |

I did 75-90 all the way to Charlotte on Friday, mid afternoon, and all the way home on Sunday.
5 hours of driving and actually didnt see a single person pulled over, nor did I see a single cop sitting waiting to catch someone. (off an exit ramp, hidden in the trees, etc.)
Waze app did report quite a few police, but I never actually saw any. 3/28/2016 9:06:48 AM |

I drove all over this great state between Friday and Sunday, and only one person get pulled. I maintained just a few over the limit because I'm a chicken shit. I think I passed a sitting cop twice during the entire 600 miles or so.
I did see lots of accidents from Winston-Salem to Raleigh yesterday, that I suspect were caused by police who were camped out. It was on a stretch from Burlington to the the I-85/40 connection. Looks like people slammed on the brakes for the police, which caused some rear ending, which cause some rubber necking, which caused more rear ending.
Took me about 3 hours to get from Winston to Raleigh. 3/28/2016 11:11:19 AM |

Saw a ton of troopers clocking people in Asheville on Friday mid-morning (as soon as you climb over the mountain past Old Fort). Saw just a few cars pulled, but I can easily imagine more occurrences throughout the day. 3/28/2016 12:16:57 PM |

Went to Charlotte this past weekend. Most people between Raleigh and Hillsborough were very hesitant to speed, seemed like very few people were going more than 5 mph over the limit. Likewise I saw a fair amount of SHPs on the side of the road (as well as Waze reports). As a precaution I didn't really go more than 9-10 over for the trip down.
On the trip back yesterday I drove as I normally do on a lightly populated interstate, 7-15 mph over. Barely saw any cops but it was raining pretty heavily so that may have been a factor. Also Waze gave me a heads up about that massive wreck east of Burlington so when I got to G'boro I swooped down and took 421 to 64 instead - zero cops on either of those roads.
Though when I was in Cary on 64 a Cary cop came onto the road while me and another guy in a Benz were both going around 75 mph. We both slowed down to 70ish and zero fucks were given by the patrol officer. 3/28/2016 7:48:03 PM |
