Got mine installed yesterday. Average 750M down and 300M up via WiFi. Hard wired gets closer to 900M Down and 360M up.

In Durham. Best I've seen is 950/920 (wired), 750/400 (5ghz wifi) since installation last month. I'm currently the only user on the FST, using AT&T Pace gateway (bridged) and Asus RT-AC88U.

it's been like 2 months since they laid the fiber mainlines (or whatever they're called) in my neighborhood, and still not a peep. WTF AT&T? I'm tryin' to be a member of a FIBERHOOD FFS.

I have the AC3100 which is basically the same as the 88u but only has 4 ethernet ports. How did you set yours up? I get 700/700 wired, but can't get more than 300 via wifi. Also what Pace model do you have and how did you get it in bridge mode? I don't think the 5268 has an actual bridge mode.

just scheduled for att fiber upgrade tomorrow

I actually called to cancel my uverse tv and internet and upgrade to the fiber without tv. Will be nice to not have to check my bill every month to verify the price hasnt changed.

bc of a $165 etf she talked me into keeping basic tv which is going to only cost 2 more a month then cancelling all tv.

How different does it feel? (and TWW doesn't count cause it's fast over 2G)

it feels quicker for sure
nothing life-changing

definitely no buffering, everything on the internet pretty much loads like its on my LAN.

i bought a new ac router but im actually getting slightly faster speeds connecting to the att router which i believe is also ac. i may just return this router and use atts

AT&T installed fiber in my neighborhood in March of this year. Still no word from AT&T on service. I'm guessing it's not going to happen. I'm not convinced they completed the install either.

got a flyer on my door today advertising AT&T Gigapower being installed in my neighborhood. Pretty impressed that Ill have the option of Google Fiber, Gigapower, and TWC. Sticking with Fiber though.

So I got Gigapower installed this afternoon. The best speeds I've seen are 220 down and 180 up, I'm averaging around 200 down 160 up and this is hard wired to the modem.

Don't get me wrong this is worlds better than the 18 down 2 up I had before but not what I was expecting. Is this normal or is something wrong here?

Got mine today, and verified 400 down 800 up before he left. Woulda pressed for higher download speed but was on a call. Good enough for now. I'll just have to contact their support people : /

Well, AT&T finally came and finished the fiber install in my neighborhood. The first round of installs (back in March, I think) is already active. Mine side of the route isn't yet.

But I just signed up with TWC

I don't know if I am getting fiber or not. The trucks have been gone and even though they hit my parents neighborhood they are apparently not eligible to sign up yet. Not sure what happened but they have stopped deploying it.

So now you can't get 1000 for $70/month?

This is quite the rapidly developing situation.

I'm one year into the Gigapower $70/month plan guaranteed for 3 years.

Not sure what you guys are seeing but my speeds have continued to decline over the last several months. Google has been running their fiber through the neighborhood over the same period I have noticed my drops in speed. Not sure if there is a correlation but it is noticeable. Max I have seen is 800Mbps but now its in the 200-300mbps range.

My speeds have increased to ~950Mbs. Torrenting is way more fun now.

How much cheaper is the 300Mbs?

would it be worth it to pay the same amount for 300 gigapower vs. 200 TWC? I'm consistently getting around 235 down / 50 up with TWC.

I just checked for the first time since downgrading and it was 360Mbs down with a similar up.

^ You have AT&T fiber?

Wouldn't it feel good to give TWC a little what for?

I haven't had any issues with TWC *knock on wood*, so the revenge aspect isn't relevant to me ATM. I think just the hassle of switching providers / setting up install dates and times / returning equipment / etc. gives me pause, especially with no monetary benefit.

If you are getting less than ~600 down you can have them send a tech out to investigate.

^^ yeah returning equipment to TWC is like getting a lobotomy and Rhonda Rousey'd in the junk at the same time.
I figure that's by design.

AT&T makes it easy with UPS store drop offs.

you can mail stuff to TWC but be sure you get tracking, and take pictures and get proof that everything was working and packaged correctly before you sent

ATT is a 12 month contract. TWC is no contract.

ATT automatically changes your bill to $assrape on the 13th month. TWC is very sly about raising your bill, they do it slowly over time
