so showing the original clip and then showing what aired on pbs is propaganda?
and showing nothing or selectively clipping someone's words to change the meaning is not?
got it. 9/5/2016 10:28:20 PM |

Is it really a shock that interviews get cut down to fit a time slot? And what lie is being told by PBS with this editing? I've watched the whole clip and don't hear anything that wound up on the cutting room floor that would be some big revelation about Clinton or Stein.
And for that matter, maybe you should be giving PBS a bit of credit. They made her sound less stupid than if they had aired the whole clip. She clearly doesn't know shit about TPP other than "TPP bad" (which it isn't, but I digress) and she gets down on the whole false equivalency parade between Clinton and Trump that has become rote in the media's desire to keep up ratings.
I especially like the dander being up over the elimination of the "who we can vote for" bit by folks who are saying "SEE THEY'RE SUPPRESSING THE VOTE FOR 3RD PARTIES" as if they aren't actually interviewing a 3rd party candidate. It's cognitive dissonance at its finest, which is par for the course for people like you.
I know you'll just look at this as excuse making or whatever, but I'd make the same argument for any candidate on any news outlet.
and yes, it absolutely is propaganda. it's trying to undermine US news outlets and sow more mistrust among the american public. if you had the capacity to look at this with a critical eye, you'd realize that

It only took them like 4 hours to file charges against Stein for "vandalising" this property but police, Hillary, wall street and bush can get away with mass scale murder, vandalism and fraud. I think she planned this all along and they played right into that narrative. 9/6/2016 10:59:01 PM |

That is a weird hill to die on. Her goal should be to capitalize on the Bernie movement to grow the Green Party, not pander to its tree-hugger base. 9/7/2016 7:47:56 AM |

standing rock isn't just some tree hugger issue, its a pretty big deal that should be getting a lot more attention than it is. i don't see how she is dying on that hill, but its also not some fringe issue only extreme environmentalists should care about 9/7/2016 9:20:11 AM |

Closing the wealth gap and putting a stop to the endless foreign wars are much bigger deals affecting many more Americans. None of the other candidates appear interested in addressing those. This is a huge opportunity for a true left wing candidate. She is squandering it by wasting her time spray painting bulldozers in North Dakota. 9/7/2016 10:46:03 AM |

The more time she spends on this, the less time she spends on the others, and the more people see her as hippie to be dismissed and not a true champion of the left and the working class? spending time on this issue does not prevent her from spending time on other issues, saying that she can't spend any time on this issue because it detracts from other issues is saying that politicians should only spend time on 1 issue that is the most important. i guess it would also mean that they should only campaign in the most important place.
to clarify how little of her time this is taking, she will be at an event in chicago on Thursday, St. Loius on Sat, Des Moins on Sunday, etc... she isn't camped out at standing rock
standing rock is a serious issue that has to do with more than the environment, but the environment is a big part of the green party so why exactly is this a bad issue for her?
your argument just doesn't make any sense

The point is that she chose this issue to get media attention over, as opposed to myriad others, which only energizes her Green Party base but not really anyone else. My impression is that the average Bernie supporter, with a mountain of student loan debt and no job, voters she claims to want to capture, do not care about this issue.
Her speech in Des Moines, which I'm sure will touch on many important issues, will be heard by exactly zero people outside of that room in Des Moines because the media will still be referring to her as the candidate who got arrested over the Dakota pipeline (if they refer to her at all).
Also I never said it wasn't a serious issue. To the Indian tribe in that region I'm sure it is serious. It just doesn't widen her appeal. 9/7/2016 3:41:49 PM |

Like I've stated before. I'm not "for" johnson, I'm for Stein but that doesn't mean I should try to pretend she is more qualified just because I like her policies better. I distinguish between my opinions and the reality of facts. Thats what makes me "special" here. I don't pick my candidate and then pretend they are the best at everything while everyone else is the worst at everything which does no good for your argument and leads to political gridlock.
Based on the facts, it should be clear to everyone that Johnson is by far the most qualified based on experience and past leadership so instead of digging your head into the sand and ignoring the facts (just because you disagree with libertarianism?), why don't you offer some real discussion and valid critique beyond "omfg (candidate i don't support) is crazy and would completely destroy the country"

he's the most qualified because he was the governor of the 35th biggest state almost 20 years ago? foh
how about you list what he's done that makes him more qualified than clinton.
for profit prisons? failing to get school vouchers? failing to increase test scores or reduce drop out rates? a gas tax cut? more than doubling the state debt in his two terms? being mostly dominated by his state legislature for his 8 years? 9/9/2016 12:39:15 PM |

Its more by a process of elimination instead of the "amazing things" he has done. He's had leadership experience without any major scandals or lapses in judgement. Thats not saying much, I know, but no one else in the field can say that much.9/9/2016 5:13:41 PM |

So it turns out that the polls don't include anyone 18-22 as "likely voters". This skews things towards republicans and away from 3rd parties. The skewed polling data amplifies the narrative that trump might be president and no one should vote 3rd party because they aren't getting votes anyway.
