"silos" is the new one going around the outfit i work for

like "Bill works in a silo" or "they put that group in a silo". i guess it means they just go straight up and down the org chart and don't talk/interact with other groups laterally or something. i don't fucking know.

is this new or just new to my company?

I had a brand new manager years ago that just finished going through some BS corp management class. He scheduled a meeting once a week with the team leads and some of the senior most staff. He would regurgitate alll the nonsense he learned in his class. After week 4 of his 7 habits of highly effective people lecture series we told him his meetings were a waste of time and that crap didn’t work on us
