not even going to pretend I didn't enjoy this song.

The Get Up Kids + The Anniversary = old school get up kids? I got four minute mile vibes.

I was listening to Designing a Nervous Breakdown the other day... some of it is kind of cheesy but it's held up surprisingly well. they played at the old Kings right before they broke up, it ruled.

^i was at that show too. they were realllly drunk if i remember correctly (if i recall, the lead singer was playing guitar with a jack daniels bottle by the end). the aforementioned show at the ritz was much better.

i think you're right.

And yeah he was usually pretty dunk live haha. Designing For a Nervous Breakdown is indeed still an enjoyable album.

Man i love her, but this song was just ok to me. Don't get me wrong, I like it. But it seems like something i will enjoy on the album more than as an individual track - especially as the first song to hear off of one of my most highly anticipated albums this year.

the backlash to it has been one of the least surprising things ever. it's a fine album.

I'd love to read one review that doesn't mention the promo that came before it, though

i mean it's ok to me. gave it a couple spins and it didn't do much for me. I don't have much negative to say about them, theyve just never quite been my thing as a whole, despite liking bits and pieces of the first 3.

Creature Comfort has been in heavy, heavy rotation for me. I dig it. Some other songs are instantly forgettable.

Someone on AV Club mentioned:

If Arcade Fire had somehow released the best works off Reflektor with the best works of Everything Now the album would have rivaled Funeral in their catalogue but for completely different reasons. Make this playlist:

1) Everything Now
2) Reflektor
3) Here Comes the Night Time
4) Electric Blue
5) Afterlife
6) Put Your Money On Me
7) We Exist
8) Creature Comfort
9) It's Never Over
10) Porno
11) We Don't Deserve Love
12) Supersymmetry

Yea, that's a classic.

it'd be good, but it wouldn't touch Funeral

Funeral is a perfect album

Everything Now is a really, really good song. always liked it, but something clicked recently for me.

^^good playlist. those are pretty much the only reflektor and everything now songs they seem to be playing live.

i made this playlist a few weeks ago. picked my favorite 3 songs from each of their 5 albums and arranged them in order of how i'd want to see them live.

I really like Everything Now (the song and music video). Am I just some old dude trying to stick up for a band past it's prime?

I don't think so. I mean I got tired of Pearl Jam after Vitalogy and loathed Weezer.

That's a shame, cause the Jack Iron-era Pearl Jam (Mirrorball/No Code/Yield) is the best.
