i don't think it's as much about "libtards forcing their agenda down our throats" as it is about companies making commercials that get them the most coverage, youtube views, etc, and result in people talking about the company and the product and appealing to a more diverse customer base. i mean...companies are trying to make money and get publicity and all that (duh). if they thought a very socially conservative message was gonna get them more attention and possibly attract a wider customer base then they'd adopt some of those themes for their commercials.

isn't marketing, ultimately, all about where the money/publicity/etc is and everything else being a means to that end? even when it is a political statement that's being made, it's ultimately a means to an end.

If you're trying to sell Big Macs and you are caught up on if there is enough LGBT diversity for your commercial... you're doing it wrong. Should all directors edit the scripts to be more inclusive? Should Ronald McDonald start butt-fucking the Hamburglar in every commercial so FroshKiller doesn't feel excluded?

It's not "progressive" at all to reduce everyone's identity solely to their membership in a collective.

I think it's less political and more marketing ploys. Commercials aim to attract new patrons. Social science has proven that people tend to be more bias towards those who sound, look, and act like themselves. It's a marketing ploy for a company to use x-type/color/etc person because others like them will identify with said actor, making them more likely to become a customer.

Right because to someone paying for a commercial, the only color they really care about is green. It's more profitable to be inclusive to relevant demographics, so the races/genders are typically chosen to reflect that... racism isn't profitable and the free market does its job.

There is a difference between that and the "look how diverse we are" political commercials... which not only serve no purpose besides trying to get PR points, they are also boring af. It's the culture the left has created though. AirBnB has to beg for mercy because a racist troll used their tool and it went viral, now we all have to suffer through boring af commercials.
