I was in section 212. God that was miserable.

I knew going in that it was going to be a candle in the sun to the NLD atmosphere, but that was just depressing. The guys behind me didn't even understand the game and were asking some ridiculous questions. I had kids in front of me trying to piss off everyone around them, and the team played like shit. There were so many disinterested people. Why are you even here?

Every premier league match I watch moving forward will be in England barring Spurs showing up on my doorstep in Charlotte.

On the bright side, Nashville is the shit. We had a great time outside of the match.

Bait and switch.

Get you hooked on having access to all games, then make it so you have to pay extra to keep that access. Shit's real lame.

^^^^lol yeah I feel you on that one. Stranger sitting next to me was wearing an Eriksen jersey and didn't even know who he was. Some kids behind me were talking about all sorts of random shit the whole time. Some redneck with a ponytail and his fairly wide significant other would not sit down right in front of me and eventually some dude started heckling/fat shaming them. Wide woman told him to either stand up himself, watch the game on the jumbotron, or just walk to the bottom of the stairs to watch. He chose to instead continue fat shaming.

Salah, Firmino, Mane is the best front 3 in the league. Haven't been this excited about watching Liverpool since Suarez era.

And if Sturridge stays healthy (doubtful), that's a lethal first option off the bench.

Smoking some good shit over here, pass it around please.

Aguero, KDB, Sane/Sterling is miles ahead.

Alli - Kane - Son/Ericksen are on par but IMO better.

Hazard - Morata - Willian are on par.

Sanchez - Ozil - Lacazzate isn't far off if not on par.

This Neymar pricetag is insane. The spending has gone bonkers the last 2-3 years and I seriously don't see how non-state backed clubs could ever keep up considering FFP. Revenues just aren't high enough to make it work.

This whole skirting of the FFP law through making him an "ambassador" and paying him the buyout clause to buy his own way out is ridiculous too. I can't believe they're allowed to get away with that.

Also, bye Coutinho.

^^ so you listed three trios that are "on par" which means it's debatable if Liverpool's are better and not completely crazy. Great points.

Also Aguero gets hurt a lot and I don't think Sterling is better than any 3 of Liverpool's trio so they are not "miles ahead." Maybe Aguero of two years ago puts them ahead but not 17-18 Aguero IMHO. Either way, they're damn good and better than United's front 3 so suck it.

^ just signed a 5 year deal. Don't see it happening unless the bid is in the outrageous $150M range.

Just rumors but read they will target Ousmane Dembele.

Which I would love because surely Pulisic becomes a regular first team starter then.

I just don't see it unless the bid gets insane, which I don't think $100M for Coutinho with a new 5 year deal is.

I don't see how Coutinho is a good replacement for Neymar anyway. I'd expect them to go after Dembele instead.

Meaningless game obviously but one thing that stood out was his calm and assertive Xhaka was. He came on strong at end of last year too. Looks a real steely midfielder.

[Edited on August 6, 2017 at 4:47 PM. Reason : ^ yep, agreed. I do think Coutinho is a longer term target for Barca though.]

So it goes from:
Quote :
"Salah, Firmino, Mane is the best front 3 in the league."

to being debatable:

Quote :
"^^ so you listed three trios that are "on par" which means it's debatable if Liverpool's are better and not completely crazy. Great points."

And then ends with this despite not even bringing United into this discussion. Obsessed much?

Quote :
"Either way, they're damn good and better than United's front 3 so suck it."

This is comedy gold.

He said he thought they were the best not that they were miles above anyone else

You said he was on drugs for that opinion but then said essentially "wellll, maybe they're in a tie for 2nd best"

He then put forward an argument against who you claim is far and away the best (without saying you were high for even considering that) which you ignored.

So the trio of Salah - Firmino - Mane is the best despite one of those players not evening playing a minute of PL football for Liverpool.

Not really. I put two trios that are better and have been playing together a lot longer. One of them being miles ahead. Lets be objective in this comparison. Out of Mane - Firmino - Salah for pool and KDB - Aguero - Sterling for City, the only player that would perhaps have a case is Mane over Sterling. KDB and Aguero are much better than Firmino and Salah. The argument included that Aguero gets hurt a lot and now we are comparing the PL's second best strikers injuries with a player that again has not played a minute of PL football for Liverpool. So yes objectively they are miles ahead of the pool trio.

I didn't ignore his reasoning, his reasoning is just absurd. Out of the Tottenham and City trios the only Liverpool player that could make a case to start is Mane. Salah and Firmino wouldn't get into either starting elevens.

Bringing United into it just reeks of a desperate attempt at eliciting a reaction. I don't shy away from the short comings of my team unlike some on here.

It's impossible to be objective in a debate about who is a better player, there isn't a definable fact based state for "best player" or best trio. Its 100% opinion.

Goals isn't the best metric but Mane/Firmino have a better goals/app in league play last season than the city trio. Add in salehs two seasons at Chelsea, that number drops slightly below but the argument is that he is an improved player now. Not to mention that his Chelsea apps were subs not starting minutes.

Im not saying that proves anything but if you want to be "objective" you need to back up your argument. Otherwise just say you disagree without the hyperbole.

Is Sterling even going to start? I figured it'd be Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, and KDB.

I already provided an argument. Fact is most people would take City and Tottenhams front three. Mane is also the only player that I see getting into either starting 11. So pool has one player iMO that can improve the two front threes.

I also would also Ozil and Sanchez over any of the Liverpool front three. I think with lacazzette arsenal are also a better trio. Again only Mane could get into that trio.

Apples to oranges. A CAM (ozil) against a winger (mane or salah).

Liverpool is good. So are a lot of others in the league. I'm inclined to wait and see how the newcomers adapt to the league before ranking (mostly referring to Laca and Salah).

[Edited on August 9, 2017 at 7:18 PM. Reason : I would much rather have Sanchez and Lacazette over Firmino and Salah but would love Mane]

I would say it depend on opponent. Against the more defensive teams you could have KDB play behind the front three along side Silva.

But it's Pep so he will probably buy another 60 mil player to replace Sterling.

Yes and it was equally as unobjective as aimorris. He said these player are best and you said no actually those players are better

That is a fact? You have a survey? Even if it's true, it I still just opinions that doesn't do much to invalidate aimorris's opinions

Anyway this isn't even my argument, I'm just annoyed by your histrionics. But everyone is prob tired of me arguing with you. So I'll duck out of this convo.

Anyway there is actual premier league football on tomorrow. Glad to get the season underway. Can't wait for the CL draw either. Surely this is Arsene's last chance if Arsenal fail to do anything of note this year.

Quote :
"Danny Rose: I'm prepared to leave Spurs unless they pay me what I'm worth."

This is the exact problem Spurs are going to face in the coming years, especially if they don't lift a trophy. You can't coast on reputation when the players who are overachieving are being paid half the amount as their competitors.

I think Levy is great for Spurs and does his job really well. Part of their recent success is certainly attributable to Levy's leadership in the back office. However, I do not believe Levy is a man that takes the next step to win. Spurs have a fantastic opportunity to invest in their team and take that next step but so far in the window they have signed no one of note and sold Walker. Selling Walker was likely a good move due to Trippier waiting in the wings but players like Alli, Alderwireld, Rose are going to want more money at bigger clubs if they can't win and get paid what they are worth.

Good problem to have but IMO Levy isn't the guy that can get them to a point of winning at all costs.

can't imagine it's 100% Levy's decision.

The players signed those contracts. Good on Spurs for finding excellent players on reasonable contracts. You're right it's not sustainable if they want to consistently be a top 4/title challenger and I'm sure it'll change with the new stadium but it's still admirable to see a club find undervalued and youth and give them chances instead of buying stars for every need.

^ I agree but they have to find the balance. Perhaps this window the deals are harder to come by but United under Sir Alex had a good mix of promoting young unheard of players from the academy/other teams and pairing them with some very talented super stars.

Spurs IMO have to find that balance or they risk getting left behind. Perhaps Poch thinks the team is good enough and doesn't need strengthening but I think that would be a naive approach to take into this season. Stagnation is never a good thing for a team and for Spurs it has to be a make or break year.

No because mignolet didn’t “play” it, it was a deflection. The shot down the line shows it’s a lot closer the left foot seems to be ahead of the ball so probably still off but a hell of a lot closer than the angled view
