Specifically, her association with that bullshit local sports radio clique of Adam and Joe, but I was saying that outside her calling the game/offering color commentary, she is also not a good sports journalist. I listened to parts of the VT ND game tonight and it was super not good.

Do you know her or something or are you just bored?

I for one actually enjoy listening to Adam and Joe and have gained an appreciation after hearing other acts in Charlotte and just the other sports shows. When their band of regular guests show up, they tend to elevate the product more than they do to take away from it, so I won't harp on that too much.

Brownlow's articles feel like something out of The Ringer. Pop culture GIFs and other references and an obvious slant towards that millenial generation. It's 50/50 for me. Sometimes I click just for the GIFs, other times I'm just not in the mood.

Listening to her do commentary for the GT game? Ugh, no. I understand giving folks a chance to try something new, but she's just not good at it. I listened to Adam call the Notre Dame game and it was like night and day. Not saying that Adam is an easy listen, it just shows how much Brownlow is in over her head.

I conceded that it's local sports radio/journalism, and I'm generally not a fan. And Brownlow seems more like some nerd geeking out over being in that whole scene with those dudes, so to back up and agree - she's in way over her head, anyway...

i like Brownlow, she has a good mix of serious and humor. i'll agree that she sounded pretty uncomfortable on the radio at first, but she does fine now.

I just wish she'd dial it back a little and give the eye-rolling and furled brow shtick a break sometimes. It it can be fun in small doses, but it can sometimes make her one-dimensional.

If she and Ovies are both in that 'mode' for a given segment I tire of it, but if they're balanced and reel each other in instead of seeing who can out-snark one another, then it's just fine.

^are you talking about brownlow? she knows her sports...she's clearly knowledgeable. her and joe do sometimes get a little too pop culture centric for my tastes, i get that. but she can be plenty insightful and knowledgeable imo.

yeah that's my issue...her and joe together can get too snarky and annoying at times. but i generally like her and ovies. the shitcks can get old for sure, though.

I don't think my dislike of any of those three people really belongs here. Maybe it's also fueled by a distaste I have for sports writing in general, which in my opinion, is only trumped by music writing as the worst possible things you could write about.
