He CAN be, and he 100% was tonight. But he suffers from "bad foul disease" in many games. Think he caught it from Funderburk or vice-versa

I don't know the knew system but I feel like I heard score differential consideration caps out at 10 points in each win? Does winning by 8 more points help us despite going into overtime?

I don't know what kind of defensive efficiency numbers Daniels has, but he just seems to play defense with his feet better than any other (wing) player we have, on a regular basis. He sometimes moves his arms forward instead of keeping them straight up when his man is posting him up, but he always appears to put in the effort to stay with his guy when we're playing man defense.

Daniels has been playing great on defense and can get to the rim pretty well, but he can’t finish at the rim very often. Hopefully he improves on this next year. After a good game against Duke Markell seemed to disappear in this game.

^yeah at the rim he usually tries to avoid contact so he's putting up a runner or floater...too much finesse. he doesn't really go up strong. i feel like if he did, he'd at least get fouled more often. definitely needs to work on finishing. he's only sophomore...so plenty of time for him to improve

Daniels would be a star if he could make shot with in 3 feet of the basket. Dude can drive on most anybody, then just sling it at the bottom of the rim or the top of the backboard.

he's actually shooting 10/21 (not great, but an improvement over his season%) with 5 assists in his last 5 games, he's not a guard so you wouldn't expect his assist numbers to be great, but that 1 apg is an improvement over his season average of 0.7 apg. he really struggled vs the Cuse zone...he had 5 turnovers and i think 3 were on consecutive possessions. but he isn't completely terrible. he needs to reign it in a little for sure though.

he obviously needs to improve. but he's not *that* bad for a freshman. he's just being forced to play more now that Lockett is suspended/kicked off the team and he's clearly not totally ready for ACC play. and that's ok. but he's hardly the worst freshman in recent years. if we wanna talk worst freshmen...Batts shot 32% last year. he had defensive energy but couldn't throw it in the damn ocean. shaun kirk was barely a D1 player...he just never played so you forget how awful he was. shaun kirk would kill to be as good as hellems. darius hicks also wasn't asked to play much, but he wasn't good either.

hellems will be fine.

Hellems had some good games early in the year. It seems like he's been struggling some in ACC play but he did well against Auburn and the scrub teams.
