Finally got around to listening to this.

Thought it was awful. Like really bad. But no worse than Sam Hunt, Chase Rice, Luke Bryan, and any other new artist out there calling themselves country. I think it would have been better had he not trying to really force an accent.

However, I think it is unfair to compare this song to other country rap songs, because those other songs where you have people like Aldean or Colt Ford at least are done to "country" music, whereas this song is def. not country.

But what do people consider "good" country these days? I'm sure people who listen to country look back on the stuff from the 90's through nostalgic glasses and think maybe that was good music? But come on, if you listen to anything Joe Diffie or the like, you can't take that seriously either. I mean I know what I like, but it probably isn't considered good country either, so I don't know. Pretty sure 30 year olds in the 90's complained that Tim McGraw was nothing but pop to a country beat. Just like we do today about Thomas Rhett.

Eh, there's plenty of good "country" through the years, you just have to seek it out. Most of it isn't on the radio.

Joe Diffie has some novelty songs (which have ALWAYS been a staple of country music), but he also has some seriously good songs with no comedic elements. Also, Tim McGraw has been shit for a long time.
